Fifty Shades of Grey????
« on: September 18, 2012, 06:43:22 pm »
I have heard so much about this novel entitled Fifty Shades of Grey. I want to ask one of my friends to get it for me as a birthday present. Is the book really as good as other people are saying it is?

I haven't read it, but my daughter did. She said it was really good, but after a recent divorce she told me not to read it, or I'd really be missing the physical part of a relationship, more than I already do. A lot of erotica in this book. Lol. Couldn't think of better way to word it.

I think it is a great book personally but it is very sexual and can be rather intense at times. I had a girlfriend try to read it and she couldn't because it was just too much for her to handle, haha :P

I haven't read it. I read a summary on wikipedia and an excerpt from Amazon, so you could if you wanted to get the gist of what it's about.
Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge
This is the internet, learn to let people have opinions. And don't be so sensitive.  8)

i haven't read it myself, but i've heard from people
who have (like someone else said) that it's very erotic.
i figure i'll borrow a friend's copy eventually and give
it a try, but i have a feeling i won't be into it...

i never seem to like the ''hype'' stuff when i finally get
around to reading/seeing it. i usually find it overrated
and shallow, but i'm open to new things. let us know
what you think of it, if you read it!

I'm looking forward to reading it. Many have warned me about how intense some of the scenes in the book can be. I'm looking forward to a challenge.

A friend had me read the first book (I wasn't aware of the book or trilogy at the time) & I couldn't hardly read it. It actually made mad, & disgusted. It two weeks before I read the next book. It wasn't as graphic as the first (thank God) but has an interesting tale. So, I read the third...I don't recommend the books. If you're into that sort of reading, then have at it!

i'm sure there are books with more graphic scenes like 1q84 but I think i'll read 50 shades of grey to see what all the hype is about
