Tourist Ideas for North Carolina
« on: September 22, 2012, 08:45:05 am »
I'm going to my brother's wedding in Greensboro, North Carolina. I've never been there. Is there anything fun, free, or cheap that you'd recommend for a first (and most likely last- my bro lives in TX) time visitor? I'd love to find out. I'm leaving on Thursday! Thanks!

I've heard the Asheville area is really beautiful, lots of nice restaurants and shopping.

If you're looking for a thrill, a friend of mine went ziplining at Navitat Canopy Adventures and said it was amazing! Not sure how far that is from where you'll be, though!

I'm not sure either. But I know Asheville isn't too far. Thanks for sharing your idea. I will have to check it out!

I didn't end up getting to play tourist while I was in North Carolina. There were a lot of pre-wedding activities I didn't know about that I was expected to be at. I did get to see a 2 story dresser while in High Point!

Those are some excellent ideas. I wish I had more time while I was there to check them out. Oh well. I hope I can go back there in the future! Thanks!

Greensboro is not too far from Winton-Salem.  They have a whole area that is called Old Salem.  You can pay to take the tour or you can walk it on your own.
