ZUMBA!
« on: October 03, 2012, 06:29:29 pm »
does anyone take zumba, or have taken it in the past?

tonight was my third class, and i think i will be sticking with it!
i found somewhere that fits with my schedule AND is very
inexpensive compared to gyms and such ($5 a class with no
commitments!) ...it's a pretty intense workout, and i don't really
know what i'm doing, but neither does anyone else  :D

Hi, and thank you so much! I wanted to take a zumba class but I was a little self-concious about not knowing what I am doing. You made me feel so much better. I am feeling brave enough to do it now. So when you are in class wondering what you are doing know that there is someone else in the world who is just as confused about the subject as you.

I heard of Zumba but I no idea that it had to do with exersising.  But I really never got into reading about it either. It good to know your exsperence so if someone wanted to know more they can here about your exsperiece.

I have a list of exercise work I do from youtube, like walking, etc. Go to Zumba Instruction - Beginner, if you would like. Just to see and try. There is much more too, start slow if you haven't exercised in a while.

lorettahknox - i hope you try it! i'm so glad i did.
there are people of all ages in the class, all different levels of
experience, and many beginners like myself. everyone is so focused
on watching the instructor, nobody pays attention to anyone else.
the goal is to just keep moving. i never thought i would put "fun"
and "exercise" in the same sentence...haha.

and yes, going on youtube iand searching for zumba classes is
a great idea. i watched several videos, just so i would know what to expect!

I have tried Zumba...following a video. it was ok. Just had a hard time following the dance motions.  But it does make you sweat. Just go out and try it.  That's the only way to know if it's for you. :)

I've never even heard of it, but you've sparked my curiosity... I'm gonna Google it as soon as I get done surfing the Forum...

I tried Zumba.Once. It looks like a lot of fun but I just can't keep up with it. I have seen a Zumba done in water and may look into that as it may be easier on my knees.

I do it on the Wii and I did it once at the gym. I like the Wii because I don;t look dumb doing all those moves haha but then again doing it in front of other people helps me to stay determined and not give up. Good luck with that though. I hope you're having fun with it also.  :)

I've seen infomercials about Zumba and people who have experienced a physical transformation when they are passionate about participating.  I think I would really like it but I'd have to start out with DVDs at home and then eventually....

I'd love to go somewhere and enjoy it with other folks.
Have a great day!

Zumba sounds pretty interesting and it must be a lot of fun, if it also has dance moves. :)

I met an instructor for ZUMBA. It was an interesting combination of dance and exercise with a beat.
It was fun.

My granddaughter has some Zumba dvds.  I have tried to "jump in" to the session with her but never feel like I am doing the moves correctly.

I'd like to try it at my own pace and see if there is intro dvd that breaks the moves down into steps.

Knowing what I was doing would make it more enjoyable for me.
