I got yh flu in 2006 and again in 2007.....not fun! Since 2008 I have gotten flu shots and no more flu! When I got the flu, I was working as a Deputy in the county jail. I have since retired, but I still dont want to take any chances. By the way, when I worked in the jail, I also got chicken pox! Yhat disease is way more rough on the adult body. I was ordered off work for a month so I wouldn't give it to my fellow deputies.

I have been getting the flu shot for several years.  About three years ago, I didn't get one.  I was sick for two months.  I am a senior citizen, so I do believe seniors should get a flu shot.

I think it is so cool that some work places offer free flu shots.  I'm currently just a temp at my job, so they are talking about giving us a discount.  I'm totally down for it.  Not only can it help prevent the flu, but they also help with fever blisters--and the winter kills my lips, dries them out.

I have never gotten a flu shot and I have only had the flu once in my life. Even then it was pretty mild, so I am not that worried about. I will just make sure I take in plenty of calcium and Vitamin D as well wash and sanitize my hands often and staying away from people who are sick. Although, CVS is advertising a 20% of shopping pass if you get a flu shot. If I shopped at CVS, I would do it.

I have not been taking a flu shot in the last few years and don't plan to take one now.  I've known several people who have ended up in the hospital because of the flu shot and at this point, I think I'll take my chances.

The first time I got my flu shot it was funny because I wasn't sick, but then after I got the shop 1 day later there I go I got sick. I didn't feel like getting it again, but I did the next year and it went well. I should be getting another one if I remember to ask my doctor. I forget everytime.  :BangHead:

I get my flu shot basically every year and have gotten moderately sick a little afterwards. I have gotten my flu shot this year too, but so far I'm feeling generally fine beyond daily stresses.

About 30 years ago the place I worked had the health department in to give us flu shots.  Never had one till then.  I stayed sick with cold and congestion all winter until then.  After I started taking the flu shots every year I have not been sick except one cold during winter.  I have never had any trouble taking the shots but all I can say is they helped me.  Hope everyone has a wonderful day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe.

i have heard that you can still get the flu if you have had the flu shot, but i don't know anyone that this has ever happened to. everyone in my family gets one every year, even my 18 mo old. i am a big believer in immunizations and virus/cold prevention. maybe it is because i am a health major, but why get sick if you don't have to. who can really afford to get sick, anyway

I have gotten a flu shot every year for the last four years and will continue to do so.  The advantages far out  way any risks and the people who say they got sick were probably coming down with something at the time of the vaccination.  And remember the flu shot is not about curing the common cold, which a lot of the time people mistake for the flu. :peace:
