Thinking of you and wishing you strength and endurance. As a previous member said. if you stumble and fall, just get up and start again. If you really want this, it will happen. This is your new life, take little bitty baby steps and you will get there! Good luck!

Good for you.  I am sure you can do it.  Many years ago, I convinced myself I was not an alcoholic, although I drank every day.  I asked for God's help to stop drinking.  The last time I drank was a New Year's Eve.  Some time later (months), I realized there was some champagne left in the refrigerator, and I finally threw it away.

I asked for God's help to stop drinking.

There are more pragmatic steps which can be taken rather than requesting 'magical intercession' from a hypothetical supernatural entity.
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

I blocked F9's posts a while back, but I notice from all the Ignored spots I happen to see, he is doing one of the things he expressly accused me of doing - trolling.  While I enjoyed sparring with him for a while, he eventually began to irritate me with just the sheer volume of his posts.  I believe he sits in front of his computer posting 24/7.  (I am betting this will the followed by an Ignored sign in less than 10 minutes.) I agree with the poster who said it is a shame to allow such nonsense on a thread that is about such an important subject.  He is ready for Halloween, though.  He can go as the"hypothetical" devil.  (chirp!)

I blocked F9's posts a while back, but I notice from all the Ignored spots I happen to see ...

If someone who supposed has used FC's 'ignore button' to block their own sight of posts, yet continues to gossip about them, they're not ignoring and are ignorant of the meaning of that term.

...  he is doing one of the things he expressly accused me of doing - trolling.

That's incorrect; I've been responding to both trolling and non-trolling posts however, have not begun any trolling threads like you did.  It is therefore, not the same thing.

While I enjoyed sparring with him for a while, he eventually began to irritate me with just the sheer volume of his posts.

Volume of posts isn't equivalent to trolling.  Apparently, you're as ignorant of the meaning of that term as you are of the 'ignore button' function.

I believe he sits in front of his computer posting 24/7.

As usual, your 'beliefs' have no validity.

(I am betting this will the followed by an Ignored sign in less than 10 minutes.)

Wrong again.

I agree with the poster who said it is a shame to allow such nonsense on a thread that is about such an important subject.  He is ready for Halloween, though.  He can go as the"hypothetical" devil.  (chirp!)

Your entire post was specificaly trolling me by 'nym and thus, invalidates itself on the basis of that hypocrisy.  Someone who allegedly uses the 'ignore button' to not ignore and post gossip about who they're not ignoring is demonstrably a passive-aggressive troll.

I'm a recovering alcoholic. I started drinking when I was 8 years old. My father was also an alcoholic. I'm happy to say that my relationship with God has changed my life. I wanted to be different, and gain a different outlook on life. Now that I am choosing to do things Gods way I am no longer drinking everyday. I don't wake up craving liquor in the mornings anymore. I'm thankful, and trust and believe anything is possible. You can do it!!!!

Congratulations to you!   :D
Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge

I don't blame you.  Though I'm not in one, I do know several military veterans who are and they'd be offended as well.  The offending jw follower lacks the courage to offend a Marine in a wheelchair in person and probably wouldn't survive the experience with any Marine I know.
