I think Dierks Bentley just keeps getting robbed for his song Home.  At the CMA’s this year he lost the Best Single of the year, Best Song, and Best Album.  While I believe Miranda’s song Over You was deserving of best song Home should have at least won for single.  I like Little Big Town, glad they one for best group of the year but seriously Pontoon?  It’s a catchy little summer song and while I do like it, Home is more deserving of recognition than a summer song.  Home is one of the best song Dierks has ever released and it is one of those songs that was meant for him to sing.  You know how rare that is?  I mean to hear a song and say, ‘oh yeah only that particular singer could have sang that song.’  Home is one of those and like Bono of U2 said, “It’s the kind of song that no matter where you’re from you can understand the meaning because America is more than a place, it’s a state of mind.’

I think what makes Elvis so timeless is that even current dj’s that remix his music, his voice just flows with it.  A little less conversation was a flop back in ’65 (I think it was) when it was originally released.  However when it was remixed for A Sharks Tale then dj’s across America remixed it for night clubs it was so huge it went to number one and made music history by making Elvis the longest artist to be dead to still have a number one hit (27 years after his death).  Elvis also just made timeless music not music for the time in which he sang but songs that a grandparent, parent and kid could listen to.  I’m not talking about ‘clean’ non-cursing lyrics.  I mean songs like his Suspicious minds is a tune that anyone of any generation can relate to, like, and ‘own’ in their generation.  Try to say that about the stuff out to day.  Kesha’s Blow for example.  Can we honestly say that song will be still okay to listen to 30 years from now?  Look at Willa Ford.  She was a won hit wonder with I wanna be bad—if anyone still even knows that song now and its only been what 10yrs at max.  Okay there’s YouTube but that’s not what I’m talking about.  I’m talking about the song itself being able to withstand the test of time.  Today’s generation of singers only things about today.  They really don’t care about tomorrow.  I guess that’s why when we talk about the greats its singers like The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith.  It’s not Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, or the Jonas Brothers (or One Direction who replaced them in the boy band craze).

Natasha Bedingfield’s dad was a one hit wonder and just about the same could be said of Natasha, but I was listening to her Unwritten just the other day and I still enjoy listening to it as much then as I did when it was brand new over the air waves.  I think that’s what makes a good song.  If you can listen to it years later and still enjoy it as you did the first time you heard it, then it’s a good song.

There aren’t too many artists I still by cds from, since cds are basically going extinct the way cassettes and A-track tapes went.  I still get Martina McBride, Surgarland and Pink.  That maybe dumb but with the whole don’t know if the elextronic will work tomorrow thing, at least if I have the cd I won’t loose any songs from my library because I can pop the cd right back into the computer and re-rip it.  If I only had it on computer and it crashes, there goes the album.  There is also something about owning the cd to a song that you heard on the radio that just don’t have with owning just the song.  It may be weird, and I like I said I don’t do it with many artists, but with my favs I just HAVE to get the cd.

While I agree it’s cheaper to spend 20bucks on 20 songs you do want to listen to  I still miss the whole cd thing.  Of course you have to wonder where to put all those cds (I’ve got 3 different cd cases) while a downloaded album of songs just goes onto the computer (or external harddrive like in my case.)

I can handle pretty much any kind of music except for rap and country. Really can't stand rap, and very little country. Don't care much for pop music, either.

When I do buy music, it's rarely ever in CD form... I almost always buy digital- it can't be scratched, and if you "misplace" the file, 9 times out of 10 you can re-download the music you purchased at no extra cost.

There are so many singing artists whose music I enjoy.  Have never been able to get into The RAP scene.  My taste is very eclectic.  I like R&B, Rock, gospel.  If the words have meaning, it touches me deeply.

I'm one of the most eclectic individuals when it comes to music. I listen to alot of different things from One Direction to Red Jumpsuit Apparatius to Patrick Stump to Loreen, and the list goes on.
