Viruses
« on: November 01, 2012, 08:35:55 am »
I am wondering if anyone has been tagged by a malicious virus(*bleep*) while doing the Daily PTC. I have changed my password and it still attacks me. Any suggestioins on how to keep it from coming back.

I don't think you're being attacked by a virus.  What is actually happening is that a malicious URL is trying to open and your AV is blocking it.  I'm assuming you do have anti-virus.  I've had that problem for a while now, but no harm has come to my computer because my AVAST! anti-virus blocks it every time.

If you do not have an AV, try out AVG. If you can find a legit cracked version, use it.

Yes the daily click does unfortunately open to malicious sites quite often. Avast catches it for me though. (Avast is free by the way.)

I have seen that lately on PTC especially on the weather selection. Anti virus stopped it all times but I wish it would not happen anymore.

Like Cuppycake said, AVAST! Anti-Virus is FREE.  There's also a paid version of it, if you so choose, but the freeware is terrific.

I haven't personally noticed any viruses, but I will definitely pay closer attention. I always have my anti-virus on and run daily full system scans and I use anti-malware. I got a new laptop for my birthday, so I try to keep it as safe and clean as possible.

I haven't had any virus attacks.  I have an anti virus program that runs int he background and I scan my computer before I shut it down.  So far so good.

I would like to thank all the people who replied on my bug problem and I am glad to hear that it si not just me that it happens to. I do have anti virus protection and it does get detected and then deleted. I guess when I said that I was glad I wasn't the only one hit sounded like I ws glad someone was hacked at. That is Not the way I meant it to sound!! Nobody likes a BUG, and I certainly don't wish them on anyone! But my real question is how do I reply to each member?

All you have to do is click on the "quote" link on the right hand side of the member's post, like I did here, that's why you're seeing your post being "quoted."  Just post your reply below the quoted material.  You can then click on the "preview" button (to see what your post will look like before you actually post it) or, you can just click the "Post" button and your reply will automatically post to the forum.

i don't think that has ever happened to me.  lucky me.  althought i have had trojan, ad-wares, the little things that slow down your computer.  i went to get some adware and virus remove programs to get rid off them.  seriously it was slowing down my computer like crazy.  i couldn't even open word.  it was taking like 3 mins to open up a webpage. it's so much faster now. i do have say fusioncash does do a good job picking out the good  offers that are not too bugy. i know so other sites have offers that link me to all these other ads and at the end i'm waaaay off from the original offer. it's like how do i finish my original offer now. there's no button linking me back. ???

Potential virus attack doing PTC happened again today. Clicked on comic in PTC and anti virus stopped 2 Exploit viruses. Anybody else seeing this kind of thing? Is FC aware of this?
