Usually we spend Thanksgiving at another family member's house and have a huge gathering but this year we have decided to stay in and have our small one.

I have a large extended family but usually for Thanksgiving it's usually just my mother and I which is fine with me.  The last time I got together with a lot of family was over 10 years ago.  It was nice and I'd love to do it again but my family is scattered over different states.

We usually have Thanksgiving with my Mother and Father in law.  I am thankful to have another year with them. They are 73 and 74 years old now.

Somewhat small family gathering.  It changes each year because a lot of my family has moved all over the country.  Some years a good number of them come back in town for thanksgiving while other years there aren't many of us at all.

We'll have a rather large gathering this year, mainly because they won't all be able to come in for Christmas.  Means I have to have some of the presents ready early!

do you have large family gatherings for Thanksgiving? or do you have other plans?

In our family Thanksgiving has always been a time for family to gather round Mom's table and celebrate being together, thanking God and eating a great meal.  I must say even though Mom, is now 93 yrs. young, she still has the family gathering and we wouldn't have it any other way.

We have a big family gathering (it use to be about twice as big).  We all love it because you don't have the pressure of  giving gifts.  The gift is just hanging out together.  We all bring different things, one does the turkey, some do side dishes, some do rolls, desserts.  Then it is not a big deal for any one person.  It is one of the few holidays that everyone celebrates, no matter what religion, wealthy, poor, dumb.

We have always went to both of my Grandmothers houses for Thanksgiving. The table would be spread and you always felt the love and joy of family. Now my grandmothers have gotten older so we go to my brothers house and they come there. We still have that spread and you still have those same feelings. But for some reason i miss the fact of being at Grandma's house for the holidays. I count it a Blessing that they are still her to be with us wherever we gather!
