I work at night so I have the advantage to go during the day when it isn't so croweded.

Definitely the time of day makes a big difference and also the day of the week.  I avoid Walmart Supercenters as much as possible, and am willing to pay a little more just to avoid it..

I'm very lucky that my husband has always taken the lead with grocery shopping and he prefers getting what's needed daily which is pretty easy no matter where we go.

It's the worst. I hate it when people block the whole aisle with their shopping carts, and when there is a crowd around the meat and dairy especially when you want to just run in and out. I wish I could have someone shop and deliver my groceries to me.

If you want to avoid the crowds, try shopping during the hours and days the crowds are not in the store.  Otherwise, you can try one of those 24 hour stores and grocery shop, when the crowds are minimal.

Most of my shopping I go when the store's aren't as busy. Unless I need something! Other wise I love to shop!

Wednesdays are always going to be crowded because all of the sales, ads starting  on Wednesdays to Tuesday nights.   I don't mind the crowds in the aisles as much as when you get to the registers and have mile long lines, with a lot of registers not open!  The markets know when their busy times are, like banks having their people taking lunch from 12 - 1:30, the only time a lot of people can get to the bank...NUTS.   I also shop in more grocery stores than most of you (I am a secret shopper) and cannot believe the difference in stores that are in a chain.  One can be so clean and organized and the next one is a zoo.   Managers really make a big difference in how pleasant your shopping experience is.

I don't like going grocery shopping when it is real busy.  When I was in college I was use to staying up real late at night, so I would go grocery shopping at midnight or so.  It was great.  I am not on the type of schedule any more but I do miss doing my shopping like that.
