justifying your actions
« on: November 04, 2012, 07:01:27 am »
When your actions are misunderstood, do you justify yourself afterwards?
Sometimes saying "I was just trying to help." doesn't help.
I had a situation yesterday trying to help someone; my actions were misinterpreted and I quickly became an "interfering busybody."
I don't think that justifying my actions will help the relationship. We are neighbors. We know each other and yet are not close friends.
We see each other nearly every day.
I was thinking it best to say "I am not against you; I am on your side."
Perhaps, that will bring peace.

"I do not regret the things I've done, but those I did not do."  I don't really feel the need to justify my actions or my words.  I act with good intentions and good people will understand that.  If they can't understand that then they aren't good people and I am not concerned with what they think.
