I have a new laptop with windows8 freshly installed. So far it has not been a fun experience. I bought this laptop to play surveys and videos and it is not compatible with my window8. this really sucks

Sorry to hear that. Call and see why your PC won't let you do the things you enjoy. If they ddon'thelp you, then I would consider asking for an exchange or refund. Good Luck.

I don't intend to get one. I see no sense in turning my computer into a cell phone. Besides, I do a lot of Photoshopping and other stuff that would be very difficult if not impossible to do on a touch screen, or with an "app." Even though I don't need a new laptop, I'm thinking of getting one with Windows 7 before they become unavailable.

I recently went on youtube and found that windows8 has a lot of auto functions from the keyboard. it is definitely not mouse friendly which is going to take some getting used to. I agree that it basically has durned my laptop into a cell phone. no real advantage I would not recommend. as to why I haven't returned it...well my 12year old really likes it and so she can have this one. I think that I will research something else for myself.

My laptop died the week the week before windows 8 came out. I got a good deal on a new windows 7. At the time I  was a little disappointed that I could not get the 8, but maybe after hearing the reviews, I am glad I got the windows 7.

Windows 8 works very well for tablet, not sure what Microsoft is thinking trying to make it work on a desktop.

Thanks for the feedback. I am going to be getting a new laptop soon.

I will have to do some research before I buy one.

Windows change too rapidly. Sometimes I take tutorials online because I cannot keep up with all the changes. I have Windows7 on my laptop. I have use some computers with Windows8 at work.

I know your OS is already bundled with your new laptop, but for any upgrades only do so when you can see a clear benefit on the purchase. I tend to be skeptical with many upgrades as I always run into things I'm unable to run or require deep adjustments to be compatible. So far I don't see any true benefit of Windows 8.
