Election
« on: November 07, 2012, 07:12:48 pm »
I just hope your vote counted. I am still confused with the Electorial College, but it surprised me before all the States were counted they had declared a winner. I guess it has to do with that Electorial College thing. But not surprising, is that Florida once again has not got all there votes in.  If they did, would it make a difference? Inquring minds want to know.

Four years I got all hot and bothered about the Electoral College.  So I did some research and discovered that without the E.C. all presidential races would be determined by 7 large cities in the US.  The EC sort of spreads the power out a bit more to areas with lower populations.  After researching the issue I appreciated the work and wisdom of our founding fathers.

The member above me gave some great food for thought That I didn't know about the electoral college. However I don't think Florida would make a difference because either candidate needed 270 electoral college votes to win and even without Florida Obama got more than that. Romney needed every last date during the the latter part of the election to win and that would have included Florida. He opposed Ohio being called early at first since there were 18 EC votes on the line and that pushed Obama to the 270 or above mark, but really once Ohio was on the books Florida didn't matter anymore.

I hope that helps.
