I refuse to shop there.  Too many cheap goods from china and anyone I've ever talked to that worked there said they treat their workers poorly.

No thanks.

Have you ever shopped elsewhere, you can't find any materials made in USA anymore. It's not just Wal-Mart. Go to Macy's and see what you can find made in USA. I went to Kohls, JC Penny's an tried to purchase clothes made in USA but, I found a shirt that I saw in Wal-Mart that I would have paid $10 at WalMart the cost was $25 at JC Penny's - Identical shirt made in Pakistan. All the clothing outlets are doing it. We don't make anything here anymore. I like to go to different stores and do comparison shopping and you would be surprised at a identical item could vary from one store to another.

You're right, not too much is made in the USA these days.  It still doesn't change the fact that I disagree how they treat their workers.

Being on a fixed income, Wally World as I call it is about the only place I can afford to shop and everything I need is in one place. Of course you must remember, most of theirproducts are from China. I wish I could afford to shop for American brands, but I just can't afford to. I do shop for lower sodium products that are offered, try to buy organic or free range chicken, and bison meat because I know there is no pink slime in it. Do you make these kinds of choices when you shop for your food. I also have a garden to raise my own pesticide free produce.

I'm guilty for being a hypocrite when it comes to Walt-mart.  When my older kids (14 & 13) were babies and toddlers I shopped at our local wal-mart once a week.  My bank was there and it was the most convenient and practical way for me to get everything done.  Easy on the purse strings too.  Shortly after my 3rd child was born I found myself working in a wal-mart bakery as a cake decorator and shopping more at Aldi.  I left wal-mart fed up with the way employee's are treated.  Now I find myself shopping there minimally as I don't wish to support such foul management tactics.  I stick to Aldi for the most part, Target & Jewel when the sales are decent and wal-mart only if it's for convenience.  If only I knew than what I know now I never would have dropped $500 or so each month in sales at there store.

Walmart is so awesome! It literally has the best prices for almost anything. Their everyday low prices are hard to match. The only stores that can beat them in prices are Grocery Outlet and Dollar Stores. Those stores don't have the variety and quality that Walmart has though.   ;D

Some of there stuff is cheaply made and falls apart. Most of they bargains are not really cheaper than grocery stores when you have a close look at what your getting. So no I don't think Walmart will take over anything except selling bad items.

I order stuff online, because it's usually cheaper to look around and find stuff on sale.  Most places have their own series of coupon codes if you look around to find stuff.

It is ahame when people want to be patriotic and hold an american flag that is made in china.  You are not going to find many things made in this country.  99 percent of stores sell things made some where else.  So it really does not matter where you shop.

I agree.  Ever since Sam died, the corporate officers have decided to signficantly increase prices while keeping merchandise quality so low that it's most cost-effective to shop at traditional grocery stores or even farmer's markets.  Sam had a good business plan which took advantage of practical economics, (price lower, sell more as opposed to price higher, sell less).
I agree with that.

I worked there for awhile, in between teaching jobs (actually I was supposed to be off for a year to recuperate from illness, but had to pay my bills) and was only supposed to be part time.  It ended up right at full time.  Once they found out I had cash register experience, they would move me to the registers during peak times, but then afterwards, I (and all others involved, too) was/were expected to still zone up our department before we could leave.  When people were out, it took way longer.  It about killed me, so unfortunately, I had to quit, or shorten my life span.
