credit card or debit card
« on: November 17, 2012, 06:21:05 am »
I am switching from using a credit card to a debit card.
I will have no more credit card bill.
I am sick of being a "victim" of fraud.

Debit cards do help you stay disciplined in spending and do add a level of protecting your money with using a PIN.

I got rid of the credit cards. I only use my debit card now. So much happier without those bills.

I agree.  Credit card companies try so hard, and successfully get rich off of the poor population- which im a part of as well.

Is better because you got more of a guarantee against fraud with credit card. you do with debit card debit card .you have no guarantee at all the credit card to the credit card company will gather you some protection against fraud .if you get  I prefer a credit card. And some other credit cards give you bonus like a percent reach fund between one and 5% of what you spent so that's like getting free money for buying the things you go to buy anyway!

yeah i know the feeling.  a while ago a copany, very big and popular was double billing me for this insurance i had to  protect my account if i should become disability or sick.  i tried for a year to get them to fix the problem and they never would..  the whole time i was disputing the bill i didnt have to make a payment.  when they decided that it wasnt any error on their behalf i had to pay the entire payments for a year at one time.  i couldnt afford it and it went to default and ruined my credit.  credit cards are crap and a dangerous game to get into.  stick to debit cards and save yourself the hassles.

I think credit cards can be too tempting for some people. That happened with my dad years ago. Using them to pay off bills and then he had to pay that back. I like my debit card. I do have a line of credit though in case I ever need it.

I stopped using my credit cards so I could pay them off.  The debit card is doesn't have late fees or an interest attached to the purchase.   :)

I use both.  I try to use my debit card more often, since that is "real" money.  I'd rather use money I actually have than pay interest on a "loan" from a credit card.  Sometimes you just have to use a credit card for gas or something until payday though.  I try to pay it off right away.

I only use credit cards. Better rewards and it allows me to defer payment for at least a month so that I can be the one earning interest on my money.

I agree with all the Debit Card advantages - but you must be prompt in recording what you spend.
