Rabbit
« on: December 23, 2012, 06:53:31 pm »
Has anyone eaten rabbit. My son in law is raising what they call meat rabbits. I understand they are good. Does anyone do that, or know what they taste like?

When I was a kid I spent my summers at my grandma's small farm in northern Florida. We ate pretty much every small rodent type animal you can name, including 'coon, 'possum, muskrat, and, of course, rabbit. It's true what they say..."taste like chicken"! :D

Rabbits make wonderful pets...not meals.  Eating them probably causes terminal illness just as wearing their furs can cause a life-long rash.  :bunny:

I love Rabbit. My grandma raised them and they were so good. And are really good for you.  Once in a while i will splurge for a rabbit in a store, but i also like dear. elk and buffalo. They are so much better for a person to eat, thenthe beef and other meat bought in the store, no hormons and additives in them. Yep raised in the country.

I had Rabbit when I was young at a friends house. I did not know it was Rabbit until I was done, and it was not bad.
