I think you should do what you feel happy with. I mean if you are getting married then it is your day. Dont worry too much about what other people are thinking on your day.

Just find the dress that you like regardless of color.  If you try to stick with the white or off-color ideal you might miss out on THE dress.  I got married over 6 months ago.  It is my first marriage, but my husband's second.  By traditional rules I should have worn off-white, and the dress I badly wanted was off-white (antique-look really), and I found a picture of it, but I could never find the dress, so I finally found a dress that made my mom cry that was white.  I do not really like following rules anyway.

I have never been married ,, if your having a traditional wedding  I would assume you just follow tradition if not then I would say wear blue jeans and a Tee shirt if thats what you prefer... I think taking the vows would be the most important part of the wedding anyway..

As long as you don't have a kid or never had an abortion I think white should be fine....  But anyways you should wear whatever you like it's you're wedding.  As long as your not one of those people on america's funniest videos doing the hick weddings.

Think everyone else pretty much nailed it already.  Wear what you like =)  If someone has an issue with it, you can politely inform them that it's *your* wedding, not theirs and that if they were interested in your happiness they wouldn't be bringing up petty things like that in the first place.

your wedding-your day.
i wore red&black to my first
jeans to my second
bathing suit (at the beach) to my third
Maybe I  WILL wear white if there's a fourth...just because I can!

i don't think it's necessarily more proper not to wear white at your second wedding. i think it's more traditional. but women who aren't virgins have worn white to their first weddings. it's not a huge scandal so who cares? today pretty much anything goes because people realize some of the wedding traditions aren't based on modern reasoning.

the bf says: it doesn't matter what you wear. as soon as the wedding's over you're just taking it off anyways.

boys.  ::)
