LANCE ARMSTRONG FINALLY ADMITS TO TAKING STEROIDS

Hi,

Well, Lance Armstrong finally came clean and admitted to the public (via Oprah Winfrey    )that he did use steroids. What a surprise   NOT A SURPRISE  . I feel everyone already knew this but wanted to hear him say the words out of his own mouth. I think he wanted to clear his own conscious as I feel sometimes we are our own worst enemy.

I agree the lying is the worse!! He lied to the American people for 7 years and the Kids that looked up to him. I believe he is just a greedy SOB that wanted to cash out on an american tour de france win. He will now pay dearly, not with just reputation but, with his wealth. That is just fine with me. He only earned it by being a lie and a cheat anyway.

News reports that his admission could cost him tens of millions of dollars. I say good, because he was apparently vicious to people who had accused him of steroids.

Regardless of whether he did or didn't I still stand behind him one hundred percent. Armstrong motivated our country and pushed people out of their easy chairs/sofas to do something healthy. Lance created a foundation that has brought immeasurable relief to cancer patients around the world.  The fact that he was racing after having been told that he had a forty percent chance of survival from cancer speaks volumes.  So what if he was doping?  If we are going after him I think that everyone else in a race with him should be tested as well. I am willing to bet that over eighty percent of the entrants were doping as well and that he was merely leveling the playing field while he was at disadvantage.

I think the worst thing about the whole situation is the way Lance treated his team.  Apparently if they wanted to be on his team, they were forced to use drugs as well.  I suppose they could have chosen another team, but it wouldn't have carried the prestige and winning tradition of Lance's team.  Ultimately, it was his extreme quest to win that ruined his career and set back the careers of his team riders.

What another horrible day for sports! When will it end? I guess as long as someone wants to win it's done at all cost - self, family, friends etc...

I think it's easy to look down on his for taking the steroids. But it's a lot harder to confess to it.
