I grew up in the city and now live in the country.  It is surreal because my husband relatives live around us.  There are 110 acres from point A to point B.

City/suburbs. I love the "pseudo"-country though. I used to live in what is technically defined as a medium-sized city (and now live just a city over), but they pride themselves on their small-town country feel (California style). Most of the streets don't have streetlights, and throughout most of the city there are horse trails instead of sidewalks. Lots of horse property, but I've also seen goats, cows, llamas, alpacas, a bison, and even a couple of camels. The best part is it's within an hour of some of the best So Cal attractions - Disneyland, Knott's, Big Bear, the beaches, etc. Best of both worlds.

I grew up in the country outside of a small town.  I now live in the country outside of a different small town.

I grew up in the Country! The Country has taught me a lot of things. Its a great way for your children, to explore and be free. Right now I live in a City, it's not that big, but it is different. I like the city just because I can go shopping at some of my favorite stores and don't have to drive 30 minute or more away. I have to say I like living in the Suburbs in the City(although, I hate how close the houses are), but I love it because the summer time I get to see how active the kids are. It makes me feel good seeing children outside playing! So I am torn between the too. I may live in the city, but I still am a Country Girl by

I grew up in the Chicago suburbs,the city.
I went to college with a girl [at that time; she has grown up, married and had children] who lives on a farm.
She inherited it from her grandparents.
I liked the idea of open space; farmland, feeding animals.
Physically, it is very hard work.

I too am a city girl and to be honest about 18 yrs. ago I moved from one of the biggest cities to a smaller one.  For a while it was quite nice but today the "little" city has become as big as the one I left!!!!
