Re: ELISAJOY or other daily tasks workers, i got a question for you

I also stopped trying the 'Search for terms and record the search results (15 cents)' because if it says to use google, I already know I won't be able to complete that task because it asks for minimum 5 search terms and my google only gives me 4. If that same task says we can use bing, I'll complete it because bing gives me 10 search terms and I'll have enough search terms for each box.

Elisa, there used to be a lot more to the directions on 15 cents google one. If you didn't have 5 searches you needed to hit the space bar twice in the fifth search suggestion block. I only get the 4 search suggestions with google also. I have been using those spaces in the fifth search suggestion block and it has always worked for me. I haven't ever gotten a "some answers weren't what we expected" error for that at all.

Sorry! I didn't realize that you had asked for my help with anything until now. I always forget to check the 'Off Topic' section. Since it concerns the tasks, you could post your question in the 'Support' or 'Offers' section. I always check those daily. Anyhow, about the tasks I complete....

Last month, January, was definitely a great month for me and it was the first time I was able to earn so much money with just the tasks. I think I was up to $53 with just the tasks on the last day of Jan. I do have a 'routine' when it comes to tasks. I always start off with the higher paying ones and at least 75% of the tasks I complete are the 'Flag & Tag Images'....whether it's the 1 cent, 2 cents, or 3 cents ones. These image tasks are straight forward and don't take much time at all....which is why I like them so much. I also like the 'Answer a few questions (5 cents)', 'Send a Tweet (2 cents)', and 'Search Google (5 cents)' tasks. When I see any of these tasks and I haven't yet completed them, I do those right away. Each day, I also go through each task page to see if CrowdFlower has added a 'Survey' which is usually worth 10-25 cents. Once I've completed all the higher paying tasks, I start all the 0.50 - 2 cents tasks which go by the names 'review a site' or 'quick webpage review' and those only take 10 seconds to complete each. There are some tasks that I don't even bother to try because I know I won't understand them or they don't credit even if I follow the instructions. After a while of completing tasks, you sort of know which ones are worth it and which ones aren't. For example, the ones that say 'look for the code after downloading the file'....I ALWAYS ignore those tasks. From experience, I know that even if I download the file, there is no code anywhere and I won't get credit because I can't submit the task without the proper code. So yeah, I complete at least 90% of the tasks that are offered by CrowdFlower but not all of them.

You mentioned signing up with CrowdFlower. I signed up 2 months ago because some tasks were not crediting and I wanted to use the CrowdFlower Support button. The fact that I signed up and have an account with them hasn't changed the number of tasks available or anything else. I've also only received 2 bonuses in 3 months from them....so it doesn't give you more bonuses either. But signing up with CrowdFlower is free and if you notice that some of your tasks aren't crediting, it might be useful for you to have an account with them so that you can get help with specific tasks. You'll just need to be patient with them tho because they can be real slow in responding haha. They've got hundreds of people asking for help with FC tasks and tasks offered by CrowdFlower on other sites too and everyone ends up on the same CrowdFlower page asking for help with this or that.

Last but not least, the 'Thanks for your hard work....there is no more work for you at the moment' message. Well, I don't take 'no' for an answer. I get that message very often and what I usually do is either 'refresh' the page or complete another task and then come back to the one that supposedly has no more work for me....and 70% of the time....the task page will open up again and I continue working on it. This technique only works with the 'Flag Images', etc tasks which have several pages for each task. This technique won't work for the 'Search Google' or 'Review a webpage' because for those tasks, there is only 1 task page available per person and once you've reviewed a page once....that's it. Kinda hard to explain but hopefully you'll understand what I mean. But for those 0.50 cents, 1 cent, 2 cents 'review a webpage' tasks, they are constantly adding new ones so it's not really an issue. That's actually the most common task in the task section.

Hope all this helps you and sorry for taking so long to reply!  :)

Just wanted to say thanks again for the awesome advice. It has really helped me so far and I am seeing that persistence (not taking "no" for an answer really does pay off. I definitely think that following this advice is really going to add to my earnings. Thank You so much

i also try to do a lot of tasks. I always start with the first one and work my way to the last one. But a lot of times I get to the last question and I know or THINK I know what the right answer is and I just cant get it so I click "give up" and I move on to the next one. Once I am done with all I can, I go back to the first one and start over if they let me. I love the tasks, pay to click and daily emails. Like others say... practice makes perfect... it may take a bit but you will get used to them if you like doing them. It is worth it to me. If I had more time, I would do tasks all day long.

Okay, frustrated again :BangHead: So, I was able to do tasks just fine last night, but today I got started and I got a message saying that I needed to use "IE 10 or higher or try Firefox". So I downloaded Firefox and 3 different times it stopped responding I the middle of a task so I as unable to complete them and of course wont get paid. :BangHead: :BangHead: So I went back on IE which is what I usually use any way and that message keeps coming up. The lock stars running but the work page wont load. I did report the problem to CrowdFlower but was wondering if this has ever happened to you or if you have any suggestions. :dontknow:

I'm amazed that so many people are having issues with Internet Explorer/Mozilla Firefox/Google Chrome. I use Safari/Mac OS X since I have a Apple Macbook Pro laptop and I've never had ANY issues with the Tasks, Videos, etc. Everything works just fine for me. And so many people on here have told me that Apple products suck! LOL!   :angry7:  :confused1:   Unfortunately, since I've never run into the issue you just mentioned, I cannot help you. Sorry.  :dontknow:  Hopefully, someone else will read this and he/she might know what to do. Good luck. :peace:

I think I might just be being a little impatient :-  I tried again with IE and I checked to make sure I have the latest version installed but it still didn't work, so I went back to using Firefox and it has been working fine     Just goes to show (again) that you were right on with the advice to be persistant :notworthy:

I go through periods where I will do a lot of tasks and then take a break. Flagging images seems to be one of the easiest tasks but don't be surprised if you see more junk in a few jobs then you have seen in your lifetime in the gym lockerroom!

You can find me hanging out on Google :)

To be honest, ever since I signed up with crowdflower, i seem to have less and less tasks.  When i got back on FC, I always has about 4-5 pages worth of tasks.  Now I only have 2.

There's a way to fix that Google search results issue.  It's a "feature" that Google added to make searches more "user-friendly".  After you do a search, look for the settings icon in the upper right corner (looks like a spoked wheel).  Select the "Search Setting" option from the list.  On the search settings page, the "Search Results" section (which it should default to), find the "Google Instant predictions" setting (should be the second setting on the page).  Select the "Never show Instant results" option, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select SAVE.  Then open a new tab and you should now get all 10 Google search suggestions again.

With Bing searches, after you've done several searches, you might notice your previous searches appear above the regular search suggestion lists in blue.  If you see that, those blue entries are not the search suggestions, but your Bing search history as another "user-friendly" feature.  To clean that up and get the correct results, when you type into the Bing search and get the list, at the bottom right corner of the list is a link to "Manage Search History".  Click on that to go to your Search History page.  On that page, find the "Clear All" button - that will erase the previous search results to give you a clean search suggestion list.  You can also select the "Turn off" button that should prevent Bing from recording your history so you don't have to keep going back and clearing the history.

Hope this helps those who want to try those higher paying search for terms tasks.

This post is so helpful. I have one a few tasks but have been wanting to do a lot more to increase my earnings. I was not very familiar with how they worked so this post is awesome for helping to understand them little better :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Thank you for your help. I am new and still having problems with Daily Tasks. I will use your notes as my guide. :notworthy:

you seem to make a lot of money elisa on the tasks... i was at the start of the month but the flagging task i was doing says ive done all the work i can for that job... if i sign up for the contributor dashboard will it let me do more of that work? or is there not benefit to signing up for the crowdflower dashboard thing?

Each task allows for a certain amount of participation from one person. After you get that message you are done for good but there are always new, similar tasks everyday. To actually make it and stay on the leaderboard, you have to spend hours every day on tasks most of the time. It's hard work. I made it to the leaderboard last month with $20 in earnings.

that's great.   :notworthy:

you seem to make a lot of money elisa on the tasks... i was at the start of the month but the flagging task i was doing says ive done all the work i can for that job... if i sign up for the contributor dashboard will it let me do more of that work? or is there not benefit to signing up for the crowdflower dashboard thing?
I honestly do not see how people can be making a lot of money on tasks.  I guess I better check them out more often.  I do not have a lot of extra time between my offline job and what I do online.

The people on the leaderboard definitely have to spend MANY HOURS a day on the tasks. There's no way to earn that much by casually working on them.

I've been struggling for a while with the tasks, but I think I finally got the hang of it, and I got to say that yes at  first it takes a large amount of time to make money on them however once you get started and understand how they work it gets a lot easier and you can get through them pretty quickly. I personally have only been doing them consistently for about a week now but I can say from my short experience that once you know exactly what you are doing, you can get through some of them pretty quickly and that is how you get your earnings to add up.
