COLD WEATHER MAKES ME SO SLEEPY!

It is so weird to me how cold weather makes the body sleepy. All I know is that whenever it's winter or very cold outside I become drowsy, start yawning, and the next thing I know is I am ready to go to bed. I know the weather doesn't have any stimulants in it or does it  I don't know whether or not if scientists have pondered this question, but if not, this would be a good idea to study: Why does cold weather make you sleepy?

Yes, i notice the past days in Michigan the snow came and the next day I became slow moving
and drowsy too.

Me too and I love to eat something all the time. That is why I always gained weight during winter season.

I'm an insomniac so I don't mind the extra dark hours but my outdoor activities fall to zero. I live in an area where the snow sticks for a long time and I can't stand the snow too much and I can't afford to go skiiing or anything fun. I'm much more of a summer person.

I agree doing these cool days I eat more and feel drowsy and move slower, too.  Cool weather is ever so relaxing!

Cold weather has the opposite affect on me, it actually wakes me up. And I also find myself eating more.

I get very sleepy during cold weather like what we're getting now! Loss of appetite as well. They say a lot of people suffer from seasonal affectiveness disorders, so I wonder if it has something to do with that?

Personally, I just think that when you're warm and cozy in bed on a cold day, it's just much harder to crawl out from under the covers into a freezing world!

i think it has to do with the body having to work harder to keep warm, it tires out more easily.

Women loose heat more readily than men do, so maybe that has something to do with it. It slows down everything and makes you tired.

I wish there was no cold weather. I prefer the warmer weather.

Yes, me too just sleeping always because of the cold weather and we just stay home.

I am really getting tired of the cold and we have at least another 3 months I think not unless it starts to break early.

I don't notice the cold making me feel sleepy.  It just makes me COLD.

The cold temperature is bad enough, but the wind cuts through me as I walk between car and job, car and store, etc.

On a positive note, it is nearly the end of January.  By mid March, winter is over.....

It may not be the cold - but the lack of sunlight.  Days are shorter and nights are longer in the winter.
