You won't believe this, but yesterday I got an email about almost the same thing.  They were going to send me, through the mail, a check for $1800.00.  I was to cash this, keep $250.00 and wire the rest through Western Union to a person (they will give me the name andaddress later).  I would then fill a report on how I was treated by the Western Union employee, if I had any problems, etc.  Naturally I didn't fall for this, but how many people do?

thanks for sharing --its unreal what people would do to scam others--i think this is why getting referrals is so hard people are afraid they are going to get scammed! -it is unbelievable how many of these things are out there---so so happy Fusion Cash is the real deal!

That was a good article. At first I thought that it was just going to bash the entire industry, but after telling about the new scam with the check fraud, it does mention how Mystery Shopping is valid, but that people just need to be careful so that they don't fall for a scam. I think BATISTAGIRL663 is right that people get so skeptical about making money on-line that they tend to shy away from legitimate opportunities too. That's why I usually don't like to advertise for referrals either until I've made some money on the site and have done my own background research.

I seem to always get these kind of emails. I know about the scam, so I don't do anything about them except send the email to spam. :)

That is terrible. These people ought to be ashamed. No one has the right to scam anyone, no matter what they think of them and these people ought to go to jail for their crimes.  :angry7:

But bogus checks aren't the only things scammers use. They also use bogus money orders. One scam has a person purchase an item with a money order that is for more than the item is worth, give bogus, but believable story about it and then the person cash it with the same result. They can also fake money orders so be careful about those too.
