Working on the weekends
« on: February 09, 2013, 12:45:10 pm »
How many of us have to give up our weekends because we need extra money? Boy, I'd love to stay indoors today.

Too bad you are not here.  In Pawleys Island, SC, it is about 65 degrees and sunny.  Don't know where you are, but I do know there is some nasty weather out there for some people today.  I wish you could stay inside, too.  Bummer to give up your weekends, I think things are tough.  A friend and her daughter came to see me the other day.  The daughter is about 24.  She was a star athlete in high school and had good grades.  She got her degree and has worked for a few years for the YMCA but they will only hire her part time.  She has looked and looked for a job.  She is pretty and smart, well-mannered and well-spoken.  She has given up and decide to enlist in the army active duty.  She said she can't wait forever for a job.

When I graduated from high school, I was already working but quickly found a descent job without a degree and within a few years was making pretty good money.  One day I will have to go back to work and I don't know what I will do.  The highest earning jobs around here other than professional are probably waitress jobs.  Very sad.

I treat my GPT sites like work, so I do work on the weekends. Because my family is home I and we've got lots of activities on the weekends,  I usually only do early mornings, so it's just a 'half day' for me. But pretty much, I work every day. Even when I'm traveling visiting family, I still have my laptop with me and will do smaller things like checking email.

I work every other weekend.  I am a direct care provider in a residential group home.  4 men live there.  Several of them have suffered traumatic brain injuries so they need help with every aspect of daily living.....getting out of bed, showering, dressing, meal preparation, etc.

Each one has varying degrees of assistance needed.

I enjoy my job very much.

However, I also work online.  FusionCash is part of my daily routine, but it is not my online "bread and butter."

I used to work on weekends but I have a bit of flexibility with my schedule nowadays and prefer to spend it with my husband as he has weekends off as well. We have been very fortunate to get the same days off and they are even on the weekend.

I am working weekends, days and nights! This week is a little crazier...I have to work extra at my primary job in order to  take off early on Thursday to deliver flowers for valentine's day.  I figure I will work fourteen hour days on monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday with only six hours being worked on Thursday. Then I will come home and work five hours on those same days and then work twelve hours on Saturday and Sunday with a seven hour flower delivery on Thursday.  Got to work hard when you can because you won't always be offered the opportunity or you may not have the health to take advantage of the opportunity. Family's are expensive!
