If you went to jail and did not learn a lesson nor chose to turn your life around, you, in my opinion, are a lost cause.  Once being incarcerated, you come out into the public domain and tell yourself that people owe you because you went to jail and don't want to work for anything.   :-[

not all people in jail is bad. they might be in jail but they are innocent. We should always give them a second chance to prove themselves, unless they have been going in and out of jail many times.. then that is a different story.

we can feel sympathy towards some, feel that he/she deserved it etc etc, but we cant really make a judgement before knowing them well. Well I saw the movie Shawshank redemption we will get an idea of hows life in jail, how people will be after they come out of jail etc.

COMING FROM A LONG LINE OF PRESENTLY ACTIVE DUTY AND RETIRED CORRECTIONS PERSONNEL IN THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, RANKING FROM DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF CORRECTIONS TO A GRUNT WORKING CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS(GUARDS), I WAS EMPLOYED AS THE LATTER; I FEEL CONFIDENT IN SAYING THAT WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES, AND IT IS THE CHOICE U MAKE NEXT THAT SIZES UP THE INDIVIDUAL.  I WAS VERY GREEN WHEN I GRADUATED THE ACADEMY BACK IN '85 BUT THE FOUR PLUS YEARS I SERVED AS A CORRECTIONAL OFFICER FROM 1986 TO 1991 TRANSFORMED ME INTO THE STRONG INDIVIDUAL THAT I AM TODAY AND THAT COULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED IF NOT FOR THE 2000+ INMATES HOUSED IN THE STATEVILLE CORRECTIONAL CENTER LOCATED IN LOCKPORT, IL.  IN THOSE FOUR YEARS, I BECAME A "PRISON GUARD".

I believe if you did the crime you have to do the time. I know once in a while the wrong person may get put in jail and hopefully they are released. But i do not believe just slapping their hands does much for a lot of them.  i also do not believe they should have more rights and privilges then what most people on the outside do. I rally like sherrif Joe in Az. He has the right idea. and they don't usually want to come back.

How I feel about people in jail depends upon what they did to get there to begin with and how much stuff they have done.  I personally feel people who are in jail for most drug crimes especially marijuana is a waste of taxpayer money and isn't gonna help the person.  Jail should be for people who have committed murders and similar.

It depends on the person and their individual circumstances. Some deserve to get out and be successful, but others should never get out!
