I would rather have candy.  I can savor candy.  Candy lasts much longer as well.

I like both. I like a nice vase of flowers and just a little candy to satisfy my sweet tooth!

Candy is my choice flowers and roses will die. But if you get the candy at least you will have something to show for it. A few pounds.

I agree. It's the thought that counts.

I don't have a strong preference for flowers or candy on Valentine's Day....the day gets to be too "commercial".

On one hand, many flowers and gifts are purchased solely because of the commercial marketing of the day.

One the other hand, many people NEED the commercial reminder/special day set aside to be reminded that they should tell those they love that they love them.

I like it when my husband just surprises me!  A bed turned down with a chocolate on the pillow.....  a nice meal all prepared so I don't have to do it....  the laundry being done.

Yep!  I am a lucky lady.  I love my Man!!

Well, when I was younger I perferred flowers and I got candy, but now as I get older I just love spending some intimate time together, like going out to dinner just the two of us.

I'm a flower-person especially in February when the ground is frozen and covered in snow.

I like both, but a good box of chocolate makes me quite happy. Especially when it is unexpected.

I got candy (not as much as he gave me last year) and a beautiful balloon that says "i love you".  I will get the rest of my gift later on when we are alone.  I am satisfied that he loves me enough to think of how I would feel without the sentiment.  On Sunday, the pastor of my church gave us cookies, cake and ice cream.  He is considerate that way and recognizes all the women.
