I TRY TO LIKE FOOTBALL
« on: February 19, 2013, 10:24:08 am »
Football is a sport that is part of being an American. I try and try and I just still can't seem to get it. Now doing the Superbowl I will see what's going on because of the energy the game brings when other people watch it. Eveyone is screaming and hollering all over the room. I get lost right after the ball is tossed or kicked :-[ embarrasing isn't it,  :).

Like you said, It is an american sport. All Europeans do the same with soccer-that is their nations game. You just need to learn how the game is played, it is really not hard to understand it!!

Eh, it's one of those things where you probably won't care much for it unless you become invested in the players. I kind of think of it as the layman's MMO. :P

I don't watch a lot of football in fact more or less "none" but we were invited to a superbowl party and so we did watch some of the game on a big screen and it was fun but I don't care about it too much one way or another.

If you have NFL network, I'd suggest watching something out of their 'Football Life' series or 'America's Game' series.  The NFL Films' footage is beautiful and cinematic.  Once you get a more personal connection to the sport, you may be more interested.  Also, NBC Sports Network has some series going about the rise of the NFL.  it pretty much tells the story of the development of the league.

whoever has the ball has to get it to the others goal. they have 4 tries to get 10 yards for the first down, or they lose the ball to other team. when they reach end zone 6 pts and must kick to get exta point for 7, or can go for a field goal 3 pts. if they throw the ball and other team gets it its interception, if they drop or lose ball and other team gets it a fumble and other team tries to score. 4 qts 15 minutes each.

I sometimes get confused on how they count score but hey i sometimes cheer for those players on both sides. But im not fan of this kind of sport. I like sports very much but not much for football..i like the way they run, kicking ball thats energenic.. :confused1: :cat:

It's a lot easier to get into if you played it when you're younger. Like watching any sport, you have to just find what you like.

Yeah, this basically. It's only fun for me in a big group, with food and drinks provided :D
