New Year's Resolutions
« on: February 20, 2013, 10:08:05 pm »
There are only 8 days left in February. How is everyone doing on their resolutions?

I didn't set my resolutions by January 1st. Some I didn't make until the end of January. Some of my resolutions include losing weight (about 25-30 pounds) by the end of the year, treating my family better than I have in the past, and spending a lot of time reading.

I've lost 5+ pounds in the last 3 weeks.
I am stepping back and thinking more about what I will do in the situations that tend to arise repeatedly. I'm still a long way from reaching my goal, but my family life is improving.
I am reading a lot, which I find relaxing and a great diversion from my stressful life.

You can find me on Youtube!

Thanks for checking in on everyone's resolutions! Sometimes this is all that's needed to put someone back on track- a reminder of what was resolved, which will trigger the reasonings for those resolutions.

I've lost 8 lbs since the year began.  I started my weight loss journey March 14 of last year at 165. I'm currently 136 and 130 is my goal.  I've adopted a healthier lifestyle that makes me feel downright guilty when I overeat or don't drink enough water. Congrats on your 5 lbs!!!!

I have a social goal to get out more and so far I have. I'm also working on letting stuff go. I really don't make resolutions, I just create a goal outline to accomplish things when I realize I need to start/stop doing something in order to improve my life.

And I agree, reading is so fun.

Oh! I forgot to mention that I think the spring time is the better time to make and follow through on new resolutions.  Spring to me feels like the season of renewal and I read something about an equinox (could be misspelled) or something like that when I was doing research before I started my weight loss journey last year.  When I spring cleaned last year I disposed of about half of my material posessions and I felt so relieved!

So for those of you who find yourselves falling short on your new year's resolutions it's not too late!  Try taking small, effortless steps now towards your goals and continue to add on so that you can kick it into high gear by spring.

I've lost 5 pounds, but my exercise plans were derailed in February by some rather involved family/friend events and a bout with the flu.  However, I'm feeling stronger--no big events in the foreseeable future, so your post has given me inspiration to jump back on the track today.  Thanks!

My New Year's resolution a few years ago was not to make anymore resolutions.  I am proud to say that I have been totally successful in that endeavor.
