I primarily sell retro video games such as Atari, Colecovision, Intellivision, up to the NES.  Ebay has increased their fees quite a bit over the years, but when I'm paying 50 cents for a 30 year old game at the flea market and selling it for 40 dollars on Ebay I'm still happy.  If you need to know the rarity or worth of video games go to digitpress or Atariage for the rarity of 2600,5200, and Atari 7800 games.  The biggest turnaround I ever made was when I bought an extremely rare game for 50 cents and then sold it for 237.00.  Thrift stores, flea markets, and yard sales can yield treasures.

Adam is right -- Ebay isn't bad if you know what you're selling. You can work around ebay fees when you buy your resell stock so long as you do the math ahead of time. I ran an excel document that told me what I needed to sell my stuff at (therefore telling me where I was buying) before I ever even bought the thing in the first place.

Ebay is a great way to find something you have been searching for or sell something you want to get rid of. Sometimes they run offers from time to time where you want have to pay anything to list only when you sell. You can make money there if you know what to do. Best Wishes. I like ebay and have been using it for a long time.
