My eight year old son got up before me the other day. He sat in the lounge with the lights off waiting for me to get up. I heard him get up so I got up shortly after him. I opened the curtains, switched the tv on and let the dog out. He said to me "The house really likes you mommy". I was a bit confused by what he meant so I asked "What makes you say that?". His response .. "Because when you get up, the lights come on, the tv comes on, it's like heaven has opened its eyes".

I work as a librarian and it made me smile today to watch the little kids pick out the books they want to read.  One little boy picked a book called "If you give a mouse a cookie" so I asked,  "What happens when you give a mouse a cookie?"  The little boy folded his arms across chest, gave a sad sigh, and said, "Well, if you give a mouse a cookie,  he just wants another one."

My teacher has some school thing to do with her kids so she canceled school today and tomorrow which makes it two four day weekends in a row!!

I rescued a teenage crow that was stunned & sitting out in the middle of the street.   His family made a big commotion when I gently put a cardboard box under him, which he walked on & moved him to the grass area.   Hopefully he'll recover & live a nice crow life.   I think he (or she) fell out of the tree while learning to fly, at least that is what I choose to believe.  He looked healthy just a little disoriented & stunned.

One less animal squished in the road today.
