Should you be able to wear a hat wherever you please?  No hat's in church for instance, unless your a woman then it's okay. :dontknow:  Is it really that disrespectful to wear a hat in most indoor locations?  Seems a bit much to me.  If your hat has a big marijuana leaf logo or other potentially offensive advertisement then I totally understand being told to take it off.

I think it's a dumb and silly rule to not be allowed to, but there are many more stupid and pointless regulations in the world than this.

Women wear hats to church, but as a man if you do wear a hat to church, you should always remove it.  Being respectful and all that.  Now if you are in a bar, anything goes, and it's your choice.

I think you should be able to wear hats anywhere, with the exception of the theater.

if it has a weed leaf y should they be forced to take it off? they arent harming others? what if someone has a cross hat and ur god says hes gunna torture me in hell forever thats offensive more than a plant!!!! come on... also who cares if u wear something on your head

Don't take it personal bud.  I think marijuana should be legal, but the fact is it is illegal and therefore not deemed appropriate by the guidelines of most establishments.  A lot of people do care if you wear something on your head which is the point of my question.  I take it you don't frequent church, but if you go to a nice restaurant or even a museum you will be asked to remove your hat.

I was raised to take my ball cap off at church, dinner table, and when I am being introduced to someone.. Takes no effort to take it off for manners and respect.. ;)

Everyone should be able to where whatever they want any place they go. This is called freedom. It something that I don't think anyone really cares about anymore. :angry7:

I have had an issue with this one for awhile now.  Apparently this was a real no no for my parent's generation.  I don't understand it and I think it makes no sense.  How does what you have on your head show respect or disrespect?  Like you said, if it is something that may be offensive, like promoting something illegal, then as a courtesy to others you should take it off in a house of worship where they don't condone it.

I managed the restaurant at a golf course.  We hard a bar area and a dining room.  The dining room was rarely used by the golfers because they felt uncomfortable in the fancy room with chandeliers although it was perfectly fine for them to be there.  One day a group was seated in the dining room because there was no room in the bar.  As I walked up to greet them, one of the golf course employees walked through the dining room and up to a customer and said, "Sir, you need to remove you hat in here."

I was so mad.  First of all he didn't have the authority to ask anyone to do anything in my dining room, he had no authority and second of all it was a freaking golf course.  We sold golf hats.  My mom is always going on and on about how she doesn't understand why my brother in law and my cousin's husband have to wear a ball cap everywhere they go.  They are both balding so I suspect it makes them feel more confident.  Who the heck cares?  But for some reason it drives her crazy.

I am a pretty conservative person, but really why do we try to get in everyone else business on stupid things like wearing a hat?

I think if you're a guy, take you hat off if you walk into a church.  If you want to have one on in a restaurant, I guess that's up to you; but if you were my son or son-in- law you would remove it.

I don't know about the no hat rule.  I guess you should be wearing pants in certain places.

The no hat is comes from the psychological standard the more vulnerable and uncomfortable you are the more open minded you are cause your not in your comfort zone I believe that it doesn't. Matter how uncomfortable you are its how eager.
