I guess it would depend on where the wedding is being held, but I would go semi-formal.  I once made the mistake of wearing jeans to an outdoor reception (the actual wedding was at a courthouse with no guests) and I'll never do that again.  I was told it would be a barbecue-type thing, so I figured jeans would be ok.  Boy, was I wrong!

Depends on where the affair is held and what the theme of the affair will be.  If it's more of a country wedding, I would think jeans and nice shirt would do well, but, on the other hand if it's more of "gala" to be held in a fancy local, then dress up for sure!!!  Either way, have fun!!!

It depends on the venue. We had a formal wedding, but offered people to change into something casual for the reception which was held at another location.

Unless otherwise stated, dress the best you can!

In order to go to a wedding, I would have to say dress some what semi formal, meaning a pair of nice slacks or jeans with a nice button up shirt.

I would rather risk being slightly overdressed then underdressed.

I probably would not wear jeans.  If the wedding is outdoors, or "casual", I would wear a nice pair of pants and a nice top ( no tee shirt), I would rather be a little over dressed then under dressed.
