My daughter has real bad seasonal allergies. She flares up when she is around pollen in the air and fresh mowed grass.

I always blame it on sinus but maybe it's allergies.

what are her symptoms when that happens?

I have allergies every spring. So far this year I don't feel anything yet. I guess my herbal remedies are working.

I have lost my voice, have a sore throat, am completely stopped up, constant runny nose, slight cough, but nothing in my chest... everything is in my head.  any ideas whether this is allergies or sinus infection?

oh my you have it really bad. i only get the sneeze attack and get  congested. hope you get better.

This year was tough for me too as I thought I had a cold, but my nose would run and I would cough a lot, and it never seemed to let up.  It really dragged me down and I would get so tired I would do a little something and have to lay down for awhile.  I think I did have allergies and thought I had a sinus infection too, but I didn't go to see a doctor.  I am better now so am thankful for that!

Often when I get in a situation where I cannot tell if I'm suffering from allergies or a cold, what I'll do is take one of my OTC allergy pills.  If my symptoms get better within 30 minutes or less, or completely go away - then it's allergies.  If nothing much changes, then it's cold or something else other than allergies.

It could be allergies or a sinus infection. Actually when I start getting the classic runny nose, headache and other symptoms of an allergy, I always mistake it for a cold, but when it still does not get better after three days, I assume it should be sinus infection, and start treating with apple cider vinegar, nasal rinse etc.

Those stinken' sinus infections.  My 3 kids and my husband all have chronic sinusitis.  I feel so bad for them.  It seems there is no good time of year for any one of them as they all have individual triggers.  I'd suggest that if you have experienced symptoms with no relief after 7-10 days definitely see your Dr.  I myself am getting over something .. started as scratchy throat...sneezing, chills, heavy chest...deep phlemy cough...SOOOOO Gross.  Some things I started doing at the start of this bug was extra zinc, and rinse and gargle with salt water.  My hubby and kids even do nettty pot treatments bout' every other day or so.  I hope you feel better.

sounds like a sinus infection as I have had a few of these due to my allergies.  I started taking my allergy medicine since the middle of this month and so far I am not suffering too much. I am ok as long as I take my medicine and stay indoors a lot.  I hope you feel better soon as I know how you feel I have been there. :) :cat:

I am an allergy sufferer so I feel your pain. You will probably want to check with a dr, but it could be BOTH allergies  and a sinus infection!!
