Life is to short-forgive and forget.
« on: April 09, 2013, 06:52:05 am »
We all heard the saying, Life is to short and the truth of the matter, it is. Count your blessings you woke up today and have another day to enjoy life. Never take life or anyone for granted because you never know what tomorrow will bring us. Life is to short to hold grudges, so find it in your heart to forgive and forget as much as possible. If you need help in that department, you can go to church which will help you forgive and forget alot sooner. Also, call your loved ones as often as you can and tell them you love them. Also, try to see them whenever you can too. Our family members are getting older and if we do these little things, it will make a huge difference and best of all, they will be happy and so will you.

Amen. I couldn't agree more. God forbid you let something go until the time passes when you can let someone know that you forgave or forgot.
Forgiveness isn't for the other person, forgiveness is for YOU

thanks for that OP! inspiring thought for my day

These are very true sayings. I recently had to let a friend go because he was emotionally draining me. He thinks Im the bad one in this but I just could not deal with his always criticizing everything I do like Im some kid. I told him nicely can we be friends at a distant and talk every now and then. I told him lets forgive and forget, remain friends from a distance. He is mad at me now and I just moved on.

Awesome post! As a Taurus I tend to be a bit stubborn but one of my personal battles is releasing grudges so thanks for the tips :)

That is beautiful and very true.  I usually forgive even when I can forget.  But if something is really bad then just let go and never look back

Yours is a beautiful message and certainly one that everyone should live.  Unfortunately this is not an easy thing to accomplish. People who tend to make others angry are, very often, incapable of change.  Because they have already started on their road to annoying other people-the annoying behavior becomes repetitive and stronger as they desensitize those around them. My blood father is someone that I haven't really talked to for about thirty years. I have given him five chances to prove that he wasn't an evil hateful person and he reinforced my initial opinion even after I asked him to not display certain behaviors.

I had something like this happen to me over 22 years ago. I moved on but this person has never been able to. I have no communication with this person but they try. He has messed himself up by his actions. He is a danger to society.
We can't forgive and forget everything, then we ourselves are no better. Life is short true but we have to take care of ourselves and do the right thing and move on.

You're absolutely right! I have that problem with certain relatives doing things and then acting like they don't know the impact of their actions.  Feigning ignorance makes me want to stay away from them.  I'm no longer apologetic about separating myself from this.  Then others in the "family" say we are "family" and I think ha!  Sometimes you have to love people from a distance. NO ONE has the right to bring negativity into your space.  I have this thing where once I put you in the I don't deal with you zone, that's where you stay.  I forgive ANYONE who comes to me with a genuine apology, but I want to be able to be indifferent toward those who have wronged me and not angry.  As my cousin recently pointed out YOU HAVE TO FORGIVE IN ORDER TO BE FORGIVEN, and I understand, but if this person is stressing me I can forgive and not forget (forgetting leads to making the same mistakes of trusting the wrong people with your feelings or not speaking up for yourself and history repeating itself) and love people in their time of need and from a distance.

These are very true sayings. I recently had to let a friend go because he was emotionally draining me. He thinks Im the bad one in this but I just could not deal with his always criticizing everything I do like Im some kid. I told him nicely can we be friends at a distant and talk every now and then. THIS IS VERY TRUE.   :star: :star: :star:  It is something that unfortunately we have to be reminded about often, because we all get set in out ways and rushing around with all of our to-dos.    Take a little time every day to "Stop and smell the roses!"         :fish: :angel12:
