I have always loved walking for exercise, but now not able to because of Fibromyalgia and Arthritis.  In the past I always walked about 8 miles per day, now because of pain I can't do as I did in the past.  I really miss it.  I now exercise from a stationary bike and use free weights.  I hate sitting in one place on a bike.  I don't feel I am getting enough exercise.  I have other problems which has caused me to gain weight which is very depressing.

Right now, the only kind of exercise I could do is walking.

But I don't.  I've been looking at this, trying to understand why I can't do something so simple and cheap.

All I can figure out is that I had to walk a long distance to school when I was growing up.  And I really hated it!

I'd like to rethink how I feel about walking.

I walk at least a couple times a week or I jog. A lot of times my allergy's start to bother me so I get out of the habit of doing my exercises but we try and keep at it.

I don't! I know it sad. I started to one time, but I got chased by a dog and I haven't walk since. I want to, but I'm scared.  :-[

I walk for exercise, for the fun of it and because my legs are my transportation.  In the winter I throw on a pair of boots and call them my snow tires.  I'm fortunate enough to live in a small town where many, many, many places are within walking distance so I don't have the expense of maintaining a vehicle.  Life is good.

Have a great day!

My brother and I walk most mornings 3-5 miles for the exercise.  But mostly its enjoyable: walking at the State Park, talking, and listening to music.
Its a good way to start the day.

I enjoy walking for exercise.

When my husband walks with me, then we walk at his pace which is just for companionship, comradeship...not for exercise.

I like to walk for fun and for exercise.  My husband and I have started walking/running 5 miles 3 times a week to try to get in shape.
