Day after pill for 15 year olds???

I am with the status quo that this is a scary situation.  The parents should be warned about this.  This is not right; first of all, they are not mature enough to know the dangers of that kind of decision.  They should not be seeking a "day after pill"; they should sustain abstinence.

i don't think kids should have the right to choose to take anything without a parent consent.  i think the law has cross the line who, in heck do they think they are my, kid is not taking anything i don't care who wrote the law on this one.  just let her try me, she won't have any lips.  now write that into the law.

Abstinence only education is the reason so many teenagers end up pregnant in the first place. They should actually be taught the right information instead of depending on second hand information of only slightly more informed peers and whatever they find on the internet.

I think they should be allowed to take it! Everyone makes mistakes ESPECIALLY young people and anymore children are forced to grow up way too fast. So I would much rather them take the pill rather sneaking around to get an abortion a few months down the road!

I think education is very important but I would rather see a 15 year old take the morning after pill than end up trying to get an abortion or raising a child that they are not ready for and will change their life forever. In a perfect world children would abstain but unfortunately this is not a perfect world.

If teens are determined to have sex, they are going to have sex no matter what they're taught or what they're parents allow them to do. I would rather precautions be available to my children in the event that they start having sex, rather than refusing to give them options and letting them catch diseases and make babies. I'm all for teens having access to condoms, birth control and as much information as they are willing to take.

we live in a sad corrupt morally decaying society where human life is worthless... 

we are not doing anything today that humans have not done since the beginning if humans. name one time in human history when a majority of people have ever lived up to this high moral code e are supposed to have. if look at our history, if anything we are more moral than we have ever been as a society. you get mad because a 15yr old has access to a medically proven safe birth control, but to long ago it was fine for a father to sell his daughter to the highest bidder.

Your right but the world should get better not worse and caring for the children.  Letting a child take a pill without councel could be causing a 15 to die latter for quilty feelings.  I say we should protect and watch our children better so we don't need the pill.  It is never ok to kill Gods creation.  So sad God Bless us all for our stupidity.

Reality check everyone; the real problem is most see sex as dirty word a taboo in our sheltered society.Sticking your head in the ground hoping your kid does the right thing when the issue comes up will not help & the kid will probably do e everything wrong from the get go!Early education from the start about the birds & the bees is the best answer.Kids are getting pregnant earlier & earlier;earliest case I've heard was 9yrs old!Education gives the child background on what they're facing in the adult world of sex.When your child has this confidence in knowing he/has options in the choices to chose from & also to trust in you to be able to come to you for help or to clear up confusing things about the subject; there's greater chance that your kid will no be face taking the morning pill,having an abortion,bring a single parent,or having to give up the baby.My parent is the poster child of sticking their heads in the sand.Thankfully,I had a friend who's parents were opened mined to teach me about the issue.W/this knowledge under my belt;I never got into trouble like my other peers did!The day after pill,birth control pills,abortion is not the answer....Education is!!!!!!

I've just realize how hard it is to get the education in this topic cuz how could you as a parent know what to enforce your kids when you, have little to no experience in this area. One of my neighbor's kid got pregnant, her mom told her you can't get pregnant if you did it for the 1st time & the bf was using out of date condoms & not rite kind. Something about the sheep skin brand tends to break down creating little holes & leak. Felt so helpless, all I could do was direct them to the right departments to help them with their uncertain future.

Little girls are growing up in a world where 'baby bumps' are applauded and little boys see *bleep* commercials every 15 minutes. Need I say more?

And there is a PROBLEM with baby bumps being applauded?  You think it is bad to congratulate someone when they announce they are pregnant (obviously I'm not referring to the 15 y.o. here)?

someone needs to explain to young girls how to use this pill it maybe alright once but not every time a young girl may have sex do we even know the effects of taking this pill more than once a month if the parent is notify maybe she can get the child on a safer routine
