So, since when should children make these types of decisions without a parents consent?  Way to go~

Fifteen year olds do not need to be having sex.  But when the movies and tv are shoving it down their throat what do you expect.  Even parents do it.  When my nephew was less than 2 in the nursery at church there was another little girl 6 months younger in there.  They were playing together and somebody said oh look it's his little girlfriend.  His mother was really ticked.  She said he does not have a girlfriend.  From a young age kids are taught they got to have a girlfriend or boyfriend and then sex is shoved in their face all the time.  That combined with all the hormones pumped in our foods and kids starting puberty earlier we now have kids as young as 13 becoming parents.  I don't agree with the morning after pill unless a woman is actually raped.  It shouldn't be something to just take because you had careless sex.

Since we have a socialist government who wants to take away ANY rights you may have as a Parent, or otherwise.  Since the onslaught of dumbing down the American student.  Since all that public education is good for these days is indoctrination.

My personal opinion is you're out of your mind if you take this pill.  Take it from one who has had MANY "natural" miscarriages.  It's PAINFUL BEYOND GIVING BIRTH.  Now, can you imagine a VERY young, and VERY naive "child" going through this?  They haven't got a CLUE.

There are more than enough ways to protect yourself from pregnancy these days.  There's no excuses any more.  It's not even expensive to go on The Pill.  Parents need to TALK to their kids about these things, especially if they have questions.  Open and honest discussions are needed so that YOUR CHILD TRUSTS YOU for the answers they seek, and not the government whose answer to everything is "KILL IT."  Raise your kid with morals and strong self-esteem so that they'll think twice before they follow in the rest of their "friends" footsteps.

It is just wrong. If a teenager is going to have sex, they should have a condom or spermicide ahead of time. Always be prepared!  The morning after pill should be used for cases of rape or incest. Be responsible. If you are sexually active protect yourself.

:dontknow: I think its awful.  I am not that old and I don't have kids yet but if I did and my child was allowed to make a decision like that without my being consulted, it would tick me off.  The world has gone crazy that is my opinion.  At 15 a parent is responsible for a lot of stuff legally but doesn't get to say about something that important?

no, these kids should not be having sex at that age. these parents should not allow that at all. i dont care how horny they are. this is not the olden days and we shouldnt be getting some and we shouldnt be getting pregnant young either. some of us shouldnt breed at all.

I really don't understand why teens need this without a parent (at least, I'm assuming that's without a parent).  Saying that kids are going to have sex is just condoning it.  In some states it's illegal for minors to have sex so, assuming that's the case, the pill would be grounds for arresting the girl who's buying it.

I, personally, don't understand the whole situation.  I haven't had sex yet, and some of my friends are holding out (or at least, were the last time I talked to them about this), so the idea that people younger than me are dealing with this issue is just hard to conceive.  When I was at that age I was worrying about keeping up with classes, getting into college, and figuring out what I wanted to do with my life.  I really didn't have time to add sex in there.  Plus I wasn't impressed by the guys around, but that's a different issue.

Some of the problem, I think, is the media like others have said, but also the fact that they are starting to put sex ed as a class in schools.  I understand we have the technology to prevent pregnancy by taking a pill or using a condom, but why not explain to kids that the point of sex is to CREATE A KID.  Most animals don't have sex for fun, they use it to reproduce.  I think it's humans and dolphins that just do it for fun.  I may be completely wrong, but if it was explained that sex is a means to produce a kid, which comes with some extra chemical benefits, instead of a magical experience that should only be done with someone you love and that may produce a baby, maybe kids would be more careful.

Maybe it was just the class I had, but the whole message I got was sex is a good thing; it makes you feel good and you can connect deeply with your partner, but there is the side effect of having a kid.  So, if you want to avoid having the kid but enjoy the other part, just use a condom and the pill and you're all set.  Okay, maybe that last part wasn't exactly phrased that way, but that's how it sounded to me.  I mean, doesn't handing out condoms just give the impression that you want the kid to have sex.  If someone gave you money, they'd expect you to use it at some point.  How is this any different?
