something for nothing
« on: May 28, 2009, 01:37:06 pm »
Hello, am so frusterated.  One of the daily surveys, OTX, will take all your information for 10 minutes and then tell you they dont need your information.  I can understand demographic disqualification, but to ask me all the news shows, websites, magazines, and newspapers I read and how often, then to ask me questions about how often I read them sounds like a survey to me.  They got alot of information and time out of me to turn and say they didnt care about my answers.  My Survey, one of your sponsers, will give partial credit for this and I think you should do the same.    :BangHead:

they are maddening! :BangHead: and it helps to vent that frustration, i know, we all know. i have gone all the way through a survey,(for another site) get to the end when it says these personal questions are for classification purposes only, then push next button and it says: "thank you for completing our survey but we have received our <whatever> for your demographics" -what a kick in the butt! waste 20+ minutes on that! i would love to blast them in words to everyone but, i will get kicked off these sites because there is no bad-mouthing allowed. don't even know if it was the survey provider that allowed that to happen or, if it was the actual company that had it set up like that?

See- i feel better about it now ;)

What's even worse is when you go through that 'preliminary survey', they say you don't qualify but offer you a different survey, and you end up going through that severl more times before they dump you off on one of their partner sites. And then, if you got back to FC to try that survey again, you have to answer all the 'preliminary survey' questions again.

But it is one of the steadiest ways to earn credits, so we just have to deal.  :dontknow:

Recently OTX has been working pretty good for me. I'm not really sure how, or why.

Recently there was this "Health Community View" survey which would disqualify you after you completed the survey because they met their quota.

You have to wonder why these surveys do not pop up a message stating they have met their quota before you waste your time attempting to do the offer.  Something wrong there.

Health Community View is one of the worst.

What I want to know is that I have heard that if we try do an offer that we have already done, it is against the TOS and we get the boot. But what if we try to do it and don't get credited and try again? Or what if we forget that we already did it and got credited and click it again?

I'm just trying to make some money here and help the consumer industry along with my opinions but to think I might just be wasting a LOT of my time with this just to make a mistake and have it all thrown out...  :BangHead:

its not only frustrating, its kind've heartbreaking too.
sometimes, i can't help but take it a teeny, tiny bit personal.
like i'm not good enough  :(  and i know that's illogical.
but still.

and AGREED about the "health community" one.

whenever it pops up, just close the window.
it will be better for your sanity, i promise.
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

i agree that it's frustrating. i think that it would be more logical if when we go to fill out the "classification" questions/survey, we should only have to fill it out once per day. Then, for each survey we try to qualify for, we only have to fill out info that is specific to that survey.  For example, in the beginning we fill out name, region, age, household, income, etc.   Then, if trying to qualify for a food survey u only fill out food questions, then if that doesn't work and u try for another that is about television, you only have to fill out questions about tv!! I just think that would be the best way to go about it all. in my opinion. lol

I've actually been disqualified from those OTX surveys before simply because I'm not black or hispanic, nor am I married.

From the prospective of the survey companies, they want data from equal amounts of demographics - or they may only be looking for a particular demographic. It gets annoying and frustrating to not be able to qualify for surveys, but that's the way the cookie crumbles, I guess.

I don't like OTX. They do that to me all the time. At least some survey sites will give you a few points or an entry into a sweepstakes or something just for your time, when you don't qualify for the whole survey. But OTX doesn't give you anything.

It's VERY frustrating, and I've dealt with it a lot. When it gets to the point of getting those a lot, I just move on ton another survey company or whatnot.

I don't even bother with OTX surveys. They are always like that.
