how many go to casinos

 I have been a few times, the last time I went I won $5000 on a slot machine, then they announced I won over the intercom and made a big deal out of the win, after that I felt like everyone was staring at me, prob just me but I was very uncomfortable walking around with all that cash.

I go, but only very occasionally.  I go as entertainment, so I may gamble a very small amount of money, but I consider that entertainment cost.  If I actually win something (which doesn't usually happen), then that is just a bonus.

I live in NJ for about 9 years and only visited Atlantic city a total of 3 times. I am not much of a gambler! When I did go I only played the slots, stayed away from the tables. I was always afraid if I did go to the tables I would Loose more than I could handle, one time I did win $250 I quit playing and bought the people I went with a round of drinks, which cost about 1/4 of my winnings but, that was OK, I didn't have it in the beginning.

Sometimes go for the shows or buffets, otherwise gambling is a waste of $$$$$.

I looove to go!!!  I treat it like a night out.  I allocate how much I would spend if I went somewhere else- bar, movie, dinner, whatever.  Then, if it is all gone, it would have been gone anyway.  BUT there is a possibility of having the night out for much cheaper or even coming back with more money.  That never happens at dinner!  I use TONS of free hotel rooms with my little boy.  He has no idea we have little to no entertainment budget because he loves going to the hotel eating sandwiches and popcorn while watching the river boats out the window.

tantricia44. yes if people that gambled only took like $20 with them and left rest of money HOME, they really wouldnt lose too much. You may have a better chance to win with $20 as you would with $100. So I went tonite with only 20 and came back with 0 but i didnt feel too bad because I would have spent more in a store than I wanted to. which makes me feel a lot better.

I go to the casino but I play it smart. I learned this thru being a truck driver for over 25 years...when I go to the casino, I will take only a certain amount of cash in with me and when that is gone, so am I. Say if I brought in $50 and I win $75 or more before I use up my $50, I will cash out and finish spending my $50. I do this til the whole $50 that I started with is completely gone. That way I do not over spend or spend what I win.

I live right down the street from a Casino but have only been there once and did not gamble.

I'm not a big gambler ... I work too hard for my money and know that the odds are in the house's favor

LuckyDeutch - that is a good plan.  We use a similar system. Left pocket right pocket.  We plan what we will play each day and put it in the right pocket. Winnings go in the left pocket and when the right pocket is empty it is time to go.

I'm not much of a gambler, but I figure if I double the amount of money I started out with, I have done well and will cash out.  Casinos are there to make money, not give it away.

The closest I have been to a casino was when I stayed at my aunt's & uncle's Atlantic City Beach house before it was torn down to build a casino.  I don't have the extra money to throw away gambling.
