I went yesterday to East Side; I wanted to be there for my grandson, who received an award for the highest reading score in his class along with his diploma.  He got his report card yesterday; he has been promoted to first grade.  Yay!!  My daughter has requested that I go and fill out a withdrawal form so when she gets the car, she can come down and get him.  He will be moving to Marietta, GA; I will miss him, but that will give my husband and me more time to be together and do things for us.   I will be doing that in an hour or so.

Yes, our elementary school is still open, but won't be for long.  They are consolidating our district into one large complex.  Very controversial in our community.  The cost of the new building is astronomical and is apparently not being designed very well according to one former teacher.

My elementary school moved from its previous location to a new one. But my middle school completely shut down.

Where I went to elementary school, the building is still there but is not open with kids anymore. That makes me a little sad because there were so many good memories there and I wish my kids could have the same experience as I did!!!!

Yes, although the building is new.  My High School is gone though.

I went to two different schools, and yes, they are both still open. So is the junior high and high school I went to. Although I heard a rumor that my junior high (now only 7 and 8 grade) might be closing. I don't know where all those kids would go!

Only been back 2xs in last 15yrs when my parents passed away from cancer.

Interesting to think about though...

The last time I checked, It was still open.... and looked the same over the years...I would like to return one day in the future just for the memories....

Yes it is. My oldest son will attend the same elementary this fall. I know some of the teachers that I had are still there as well

Yes mine is, although it has been added onto and a middle school was built behind it since I attended.  They added on quite a few years due to several elementary schools closing.
