I've never tried to sell music equipment but Craigs List works well for other items - wide range of prices.  And it doesn't cost to list there.
Also - do any of your local music stores sell equipment of consignment?

I wouldn't use craigslist, there are a lot of scams and shady people. I'd used amazon or ebay. Ebay has the bidding feature which is great. They even have a reserve feature on bidding so your item doesn't sell for too low. I am an avid shopper on those sites. Also you don't even need to ship it on ebay because they have a local pick up feature.

I have sold some stuff on craigslist. Make sure you have good pictures and all the specs if you want more for the item. Also search around for like items to see how much you can charge for it. You can always start high and then lower the price if no one is interested. You could also ask a music shop in your area for a guess on the price range for a similar item, maybe they would be interested in buying it from you to sell themselves.

CL seems the way to go. Ebay and paypal tend to be scams because they both take their cut. You can end up losing a lot of money. That, or find music forums which have a buy/sell/trade area.

I was going to say the exact same thing.

I don't, I give it away to schools, churches, kids... I think you've been given a lot of info though...

Musician's Friend has a used section... Not sure how you'd go about selling stuff to them, though... But at least everyone shopping there are other musicians, so they'd know better the value of the items for sale.

I would try Craigslist, if that doesn't work try putting an ad in your local paper.  You could also try a music store, they might take it to resell.  Good luck, hope you sell it for the pice you want.
