It's a blessing to live in a country that has patriotism and I couldn't help but feel it as I watched the Coca Cola 600 NASCAR race yesterday. Seeing all the red, white and blue and uniformed service people added to the festivities and excitement for me.

I noticed that in the race too, patriotic fans are refreshing.

I thank all of military men and women, every day of the year, not just memorial or veterans day. Because of you, we have our freedoms.

I agree!!  Our military and their families are to be thanked often for their service.  I am grateful for all those who have served and who are serving.

Our son is Active Army, daughter-in-law is Army Reserve, and our daughter is Army National Guard.

I don't think we'd be the great Country we are if not for our military throughout our history.  My Dad was a lifer in the Air Force, my father-in-law served in WWll, I had 2 cousins and 2 brothers that served during VietNam and several uncles that were also military.  I have nothing but respect for our military and whenever I run across any serving now or has served I always try to thank them for their service.

My dad served in Burma with the 776th Engineer Petroleum Distribution Co during WWII.  My brother and I are working on our family history.  I put up a Facebook page for the unit on Memorial Day.  I need help identifying some of his buddies.  Until now there was only a couple mentions of his unit.  :star:
