I need to shop for a new netbook or laptop computer, any suggestions on the best brands. I have a Acer now.

Also are there any electronic stores that allow a layaway plan anymore?

Rent=A-Center may allow lay-a=ways but by the time you pay the fees you might as well save the money and go buy what you want straight out.

There is always Wal-Mart.  Good prices on computers.  I am not sure if they are still doing the lay-away thing.

We have Dell desktop computers at work. And they seem to do pretty well. Not sure about their laptops.  Maybe Lenovo laptops.  I would go to Bestbuy and try their different demos out. Then see if you can find the one that you like cheaper online.

I have had an Acer Netbook for years and it still runs fine. If I bought another one I would do the same brand.

I got three computer from Wal-Mart one is a Dell desk top but there is no tower its just a screen and the tower is built into the screen I like it.  I also have an emachine laptop and I got It for $300 bucks, we also had a Compaq laptop and it was great and all purchased at Walmart.  Gateway use to give credit try looking it up on the web.

If you have an Aaron's in your area they offer payment plans. Also if you need to put something on layaway, then maybe you should be spending your money in the first place and just find a cheaper solution.

I live in Mississippi, and called a pay to own business called Baber's.  I called them because my brother in-law works for them.  I told them I had the money in hand to purchase a laptop, and they told me to go elsewhere and purchase a computer.  The point is, they were letting me know that it would be cheaper to buy one outright than paying them.  Places like that are intended for those people who prefer to pay over and over again.  I know of one place that you can use a layaway plan with:  Sweepstakes Clearinghouse.  They have a website and you should register.

I have tried the Acer which was okay, but now have an Asus.  It works just fine for me.  It all depends on what you want and the what are using it for-personal, business or both.

I use a Gateway laptop, can't say I love it but it does the job. I purchased it used from a gal that did not want to spend the money for a new battery, and that was all that it needed. A family member had the same basic computer and they allowed me to borrow the battery to test the used machine and indeed that is all that was 'wrong' with it. Paid $60 for the thing, not bad for a machine that retailed for over $700 two years ago.

If you want the best out there, you cannot top a Mac, but then there are software issues if you are using a PC now...

Sam's and Costco can get you a good price, but the items might be less than the newest available. that may or may not be a concern for you.
