if man is still alive.......Remember that song?  How sad that we are nearing those prophetic words.  This planet we call home has been ravaged by greed, insensitivity and profound "carelessness."  We spew filth into our atmosphere every second of every day all in the name of corporate profits.  Only now are we beginning to explore alternative forms of energy (even though the technology has existed for a long time).  Is it too little too late?  Our rainforests are disappearing at an alarming rate, impacting worldwide climatic changes.  We have all heard of global warming, well now it is a reality.  This beautiful planet has tremendous resources to regenerate itself, let's hope for at least the sake of our kids and their future generations, that it is allowed to do so.  It really does take a "village."  A handful of "environmental pioneers" cannot do the job alone.  Each and every one of us CAN do our part, no matter how insignificant it may seem.  We all are aware of ways in which we can assist . through conservation of our natural resources.  Let's give this earth a helping hand, after all, it's the ONLY place we have to call home!

No unfortunately I missed the special.  I just heard that "old song" on the radio, and it got me to thinking how bad things really are..how sad that we have allowed this to happen to our home.  Shame on us!!!
