Try a squirrel in the walls!  :BangHead: Cant figure how hes getting in, right now hes scrurrying around in the walls behind the bathroom. He gets out, and is gone for several days, then he comes back bringing in pinecones, I can hear them rolling around

I used to have a problem with mice, but my cats would catch them. Be careful if you decide to use some type of food as bait. You don't want your cat eating the bait.  :cat: I am currently trying to figure out how to keep squirrels out of the walls.  :BangHead:

Yuk! I hate mice. But if the cat knows it is in the house, it's days are numbered.

:cat: If your cat was chasing the mouse, it is only a matter of time. I am surprised that the mouse even entered your house with the scent of a cat but these are desparate times for everyone or being - so have patience and all will right it self with the mouse problem. Now if resolving the price of groceries was that easy.  :cat:

if the cat was chasing it in the first place, the mouse will leave or the cat will get it.

A couple of winters ago we had a whole family, I do not own a cat but my dog kept barking after the lights when out.  And one evening my husband saw the mom at my stove while we were in the kitchen, she was eating like she own it.  It was snowing like crazy outside, but I made my husband go buy poison and traps.  Within a week we found dead all the babies and the mom disappeared.  i bought something at the store that shocks them so they do not come in anymore.  And so far so good.  Thank God

I thought of another mouse story - I won't name which big box bakery this happened in...but I was employed there at the time.  Before I became a cake decorator I was working in the back of the kitchen.  My best friend was a cake decorator at the time.  I came in from my break after she had been the only one in the kitchen - she was freaking out.  There was a little mouse sitting atop the multigrain fresh loaf of bread...night after night we would find multigrain bread loaves opened and bread dug out through the middle of the loaf...ah ha she had found the culprit.  Well he was clearly a little mouse who valued nutrition.  Another time the same mouse was jumping from one bread rack to another when one of the bakers walked in on it.  I know they get in and even with regular bug and rodent treatment - the thought of ever eating anything out of that particular bakery - turned my stomach.  I'm no longer employed there.

This is why I have 3 cats! I live in the woods and mice are always coming in from underneath the house.

I put an ultrasound device to eliminate mice up in my attic...it seemed to work.  The ones I've had are tiny little things almost sweet if you don't think of their rate of reproduction.  They desrve a little space on the planet too, just not in our cupboards.  All creatures great and small  :dontknow:

I woke up this morning and found my cat chasing a mouse. It got away and now I will be a nervous wreak till I catch it.

If the cat can't catch it, you should call the "turtle man" from Kentucky. Have you guys seen  "Call of the wild" There is a show and this guy known as the "turtle man" get catch any critters for a small amount of money or sometimes free if you are his friend. He's got one season on netflix. Check it out. He is not afraid of anything. Hehehehehaw! LOL

"call of the wildman" seriously... for a mouse? that is somewhat extreme for one. I believe if you give the cat some time there will be a "present" for you soon. Just think your on your sofa and are expecting company... that will be right about the time the cat will see the mouse scurry across your baseboard and the chase will be on. No matter if you want it to be on or not!

The sonic devices seem to work well. I keep 1 in the garage and 1 in the attic. I think they also discourage spiders.

I looked outside the kitchen window and saw a sight I never thought I would ever see:  a cat with this huge rat in his mouth.  She released it and it ran.  I couldn't help but to laugh.  This rat, after running so long, started bouncing up and down in the cat's face.  I can't tell you if the cat managed to eat the rat, but it was a sight for sore eyes! :cat: :cat: :cat: ::)
