Keep the shipping cost down or build into the price. People like to see the word FREE. Good Luck!!

I sell a lot of stuff on ebay.  Being fair and honest is a way to get returning customers.  Be as descriptive as possible when you list your items.

I plan to start an Ebay jewelry store this weekend.  Ebay has revised their TOS and way of doing business over the last few months.  Any up to date tips on how to turn a residual profit on ebay, retain returning customers, and gaining the attention of new customers?

Thanks!!

As a buyer on eBay, I can tell you what NOT to do! Do not charge a below desired price for the item and a ridiculous S&H cost, as many sellers do to avoid sellers' fee from eBay. For example, they'll charge a starting bid of $0.99 for a pair of Nikes, with $39.99 S&H, since eBay charges on the selling price, not the S&H.
Also, buyers HATE auctions with 'secret minimum accepted bid'. They are usually ignored by bidders. Your best advice has been given by 'Old Buddy' ... give FREE S&H and incorporate the charge into your asking price. However, find the cheapest shipping rate (USPS; UPS; FEDEX) as the high cost of shipping is a major contention for buyers. Good luck!!

As long as the jewelry is in demand you'll be successful where selling is concerned.  As previously mentioned, offer free shipping within the contiguous US and make sure YOU have a profit after paying eBay and PayPal fees.  Make sure you key in a tracking number after you ship to a customer and do business with integrity so you can maintain some happy, healthy feedback.

Have a great day!

Actually, ebay charges final value fees on shipping now. It has for over a year.

go directly to your customer. Search "want" ADs if you are going to promote your products. This really saves you time by not advertising to uninterested people.

Melissa I like free too (lol) thanks!

Tin8604 masked_brown_guy Thanks!!

Sherri How ironic that you say that because I always include handwritten ty notes lol I started off with HallMark ty notes and ran out. I wanted to include some kind of freebie with every order but the handwritten ty notes are cheaper lol

Kismet Excellent advice!
