i think my cat understood me. coz when i would say hello to her when i saw her so would normally meow back like she was saying hi. she responded when i asked her if she was feeling ok on certain days and she would meow and lay there and go to sleep.

I think my dog understands me. She can tell what mood I am in. When I am upset or sad she gets real cuddley. I love how dogs tilt their head to the side when your talking to them. My dog does that all the time and I think its so cute.

I talk to my dog all the time, he does understand me well. Sometimes I think animal are very smart....they don't even need to learn human language and they understand what we are talking about but we can't understand their language.  ???  ;D

Well I don't know I think my dog understands me. She is very well behaved and where I tell her to stay she does, when I  tell her to bring things or leave them she does that to. I just tell her what to do and she does it.

I think they do. I have two cats. When i call my first cat she listens or comes running.  Love how she communicates with me....when she's hungry she sits calmly in front of the bowl waiting for the food.  If she wants wet food she goes to the pantry and starts to meow.  She so affectionate as well. She evens greets me at the door. I dont know what i would do without my cat

My dog tries to understand me... Sometimes when I'm speaking to her and I ask a question, she'll *bleep* / tip (not sure if the first word will get bleeped) her head to the side as though she's confused. She does recognize certain words and also knows when I speak those words whether I am directing them at her (either by looking at her or by saying her name in the sentence) or if I just happen to use that word when talking with someone else. She also gets excited if I pull my car out of the garage and park it in the driveway; usually that's because we're going on a car ride and I need to pull the car out so that she can hop into the back seat. My cat, on the other hand, does seem to understand me much... I think that mostly because he's so young. He is starting to learn when I'm yelling at him or praising him. I think I understand him more than he understands me... Sometimes he'll come up to me out of the blue and start chatting with me as though he's telling me about his day. I picture him as like a kindergartner coming home from school and going on and on about something that happened at school that day. Really cute!

My dogs understand a great deal.  Mealtime for sure and if they're being yelled at but they know a lot of words.

With my old dog from a few years back- she'd see a squirrel, look at me, I'd give her one nod, and then she'd take off after it. The fact that she understood the "Go for it!" nod I gave her is proof enough that atleast dogs understand a great deal of our interactions.

Oh yes.... especially cats....  I have 2 and one of them I swear can read my mind... its freaky. If I'm even THIKING about feeding her,  or going outside (she's and outside cat) she'd come flying down the steps!!! It creeped me out!
