I read a lot of books when I was a kid, but I have to say the one that sticks is Little Women by Louisa M. Alcott.( I hope I spelled that right) Anyway, I think I got it in the second or third grade and that is one I will go back to time and time again.

I liked reading a lot when I was a kid, but Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut is the book that made me really enjoy sitting and reading all day.  It was the first book I finished in just a few days.  Before that it would take me weeks to finish a book.

Ceratinly not the first books I ever read, but the greatest books ever are the Redwall books by Brian Jacques.

 I love books. I turned my spare bedroom into my own private library, and it is my favorite room in my house.. I guess my very favorite book of all time is, "To Kill a Mockingbird" , by Harper Lee.

My mom used to read to me The Little Engine That Could, Dr. Seuss books, & Berenstain Bears Books. That's when it began.

When I got a little older and could read on my own....I read books like A Dog Called Kitty and The Cay, Sounder, Diary of Anne Frank and would get so into them, I would cry. I love/loved to read.

My daughter is going off to college in August and I"m turning her room into my office/library too. I've got book shelves all over the place and storage bins full in the garage. I CANNOT pass up a book.

I also love To Kill a Mockingbird.

Hmm, the book that got me started? *Thinks* My favorite books of all time, which have great artwork and I recommend to kids of all ages, from 1-99, is Dinotopia, Dinotopia: the world beneath and the third one which escapes me...the author, also painted the illustrations....it took years for him to do each book because of those.

Honestly, I didn't get hooked on reading because of a book. My parents used to read to me when I was two or three years old, and the way they would tell the stories got me interested. Well, they bought me a full set of Childcraft books, and that series was the first reading I ever did for myself. Those were good times.

As a kid, the Beverly Cleary Ramona books. As an adult, my favorite is A Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. The Stephen King Dark Tower books are a close 2nd.

Enders Game by Orson Scott Card. Also pretty much anything by Clive Cussler.
