Jobs and Employers

I was promotes to a second shift supervisor a few months back. (I have been with this company about 7 years) Well this one guy on my shift would disappear and wasn't accomplishing his job to I went to the Boss and the other Supervisors and they told me to give the employee a warning but I wanted to let him go.  I did what they told me but if they don't back me up than the rest of the employee's  would not give me the respect that I believe I earned.  Well anyways the employee kept disappearing for an hour ( I thought he had went to lunch) when I caught up with him and he told me he was going to lunch and I said well where you just on lunch?  He said no, so he took his lunch so I than went to the boss and other supervisors explained the situation and they to me to go ahead and fire him so I did. The next day he showed up (the other supervisors left early that day) and started jumping around me with his fist up and trying to his me I don't know if he did or not but I protected myself and when I saw his fist coming toward I struck back, well the other employee's to the boss and other supervisors I hit first so they took there word for it and guess what I got fired, I don't think they should of fired me what do you all think.  Now its the beginning of the month and I have no job and no money to pay bills, I am screwed.

yup been in that situation learnt to just ignore it and keep my better paying job  my story is pretty close to yours I didn't get fired tho later I quite cause of our meeting no warning nothing my boss let everyone bawl me out and then said well she does a good job u guys shouldn't be so hard on him  in her cutest little voice that's not how a boss should be well not in my opinion

Look for a better Job, If the job you were working for don't trust/respect you then find a better one,  Laugh back at the moment you were working for those dumb bastards they did not deserve an employee like yourself for what they did. Seven years of loyalty and no trust at all! that's just [BS]  Sorry you lost your job and all but find a better job you know you can.   Good Luck and Don't give up.

Sorry that you lost your job. I hope you learned a lesson about people.  When the boat is sinking it's every man for himself such as your peers.  What you should have done was first talk to your Supervisor to apprise him of what was going on. Next you and your Supervisor should have sat down with the employee to see what was going on and if he wasn't adhering to the company rules then he should have been fired with your boss to back you.
