Movies that haven't stood up to there hype...
« on: October 15, 2013, 05:48:08 am »
Someone put a cool post up bout' what movies they could watch over and over again.  What are some that you sat through and when it was all over you asked yourself, "why didn't I turn that off within the first 10 minutes?"

A couple I wish I hadn't wasted my time with.  Punch line drunk and most recently Cloud Atlas.

The movie that disappointed me the most was Titanic.   Why" Great story, love DiCaprio - but - it dragged and dragged and I thought the acting was sub par.
It went on so long - especially the sinking part - that I whispered to my husband "Why doesn't the "blinkin" ship sink already?" at the end and cracked him up.  Needless to say those sitting nearby weren't impressed.  :dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow:

'After Earth' would certainly qualify as a total waste of time. So happy I did not have to pay to see this piece of trash!

I agree, "After Earth" was a huge disappointment.

Saving Private Ryan. I watched that once and I thought, what a great movie. Then I watched it another time and I really didn't like it at all. In fact you can through the Titanic into that category too. :dontknow:

Well I don't know how many people watched the last terminator film but I could never get into it. I think it was Terminator Salvation. I still do not know what happened.

I think it is fair to say about 50% of movies never live up to their hype!

The one that comes to mind is "The Blair Witch Project".  Such big hype with that movie and was such a dud.  I recalled in the theater, when the movie suddenly "ended", the guy next to me stood up and said "What?!?  That's it?!?  I want my money back!"...and stormed out of the theater.  LOL!

Usually the ones with a ton of hype around them don't stand up to the hype.  But specifically I had one recently that I don't know why I didn't turn it off.  "This is The End"  An hour and a half of my life I can't get back.

I was really looking forward to After Earth  - - - At least I've not paid for it anywhere.  Just have it on hold through the local library.

Titanic?  Really?  That's one of those movies that once if it's on I get sucked into it.  I'd rather watch Ghost Ship though - it reminded me of the era of Titanic without all the lovey dovey stuff.

I went to see Thor 2 last night because I so enjoyed the first Thor.  I was so disappointed!  It was mostly anime and was totally stupid!  What a let down! :bad: >:(
