countdown ....

to Christmas has started even before Halloween. I've seen advertising for Halloween. It's too bad Thanksgiving doesn't get much recognition. Maybe this year that will change.

Christmas becomes more commercialized every year.  We've tried to simplify things in our home and celebrate the holiday for what it is really for ~ the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Have a wonderful day!

Yeah I noticed in our local store that they bought out Halloween merchandise and Christmas merchandise at the same time.  I can't help but think that they lose a bit of money this way. My favorite holiday is Christmas and as soon as I see Christmas decorations out, that's where my money goes. It they just waited a few weeks, I probably would have bought both, now I can't afford it!

It's the most dreaded time of the year... So glad I don't participate in all the craziness.

I love all the holidays but I don't know why we can't celebrate them one at a time and enjoy each one. I've seen Christmas decorations since mid September. Halloween has become a big commercialized holiday also with all kinds of expensive costumes ( What happened to using what you could find in the house to make a costume? ). Thanksgiving almost gets over looked because store haven't found a way to make people buy a lot of Thanksgiving stuff. Oh well it's definitely a comment on our life style today.

I really love Christmas but I hate to see Christmas displays in stores before Halloween. You would think they could at least wait till November. I also agree that Thanksgiving does not get much attention.

Well, Thanksgiving is just the day before Black Friday, in most retailer's eyes anyways....though I've heard some places will start opening on Thanksgiving night now.

I was thinking that today too.  2 weeks to Halloween, five until Thanksgiving and just ten until Christmas ... time rockets

I've had to go to the Lowe's a few times over this month and they have Christmas stuff out already. Before it was just Halloween and then I had to go back 2 days later and they had Christmas stuff up already.
