First job interview
« on: October 25, 2013, 06:05:59 am »
My first job interview was for a Hardee's that hadn't even opened yet.  The interview was in a trailer.  My oldest is scheduled for her first interview this morning.  She's in high school so I'm allowing her to miss her morning class to take this step of real world learning.  She's a bundle of nerves.  She looks so darn cute though, all dressed up and put together.  So independent this one, she doesn't even want me there for moral support.  More power to her - she's more like me than I realize at times.

Where was your first interview and what do you remember about it?

I was just about to post something about this! I have my first interview today. I'm glad you're letting her prepare herself for the real world. My parents were fine with me getting a job, but they really wanted me to focus on school. So I came across this great opportunity and could not pass it up. My interview is at 4:30. I'm really nervous, but just like your daughter I don't want anyone else there. Lol Good luck to her!  :)

My first interview was at Bob Evans.  I was there with my family eating and asked if they were hiring and the manager set me up an interview right there.

My first interview was so long ago.  But, they hired me that day and I started working.  They needed someone quickly to answer phones and make appointments for a group of doctors.   That job entered me into the world of medicine.

So babyturtles23, how did it go?  My daughter walked into the office and introduced herself and the manager told her I meant to say Saturday morning... aren't you suppose to be in school now?  He seemed a little disheveled but decided to go through with the interview right than and there.  It didn't take her more than 5 minutes or so - she said she didn't even take off her coat.   I'm proud of her for stepping into the experience without my holding her hand through it.  I think she was a little disappointed though she left with an okay so I'll give you call and let you know.

my first interview was my easiest. Walked in and one of the servers walked out. Hired that moment

my 1st interview was at Wendy's and I had at lot confidence and I got the job. these days interviewing is like walking on eggshells, I am the worst interviewee, I lack confidence and self-esteem needless to say I have been denied many jobs I am qualified for.  :'(

Update - after talking to the managers on at school my daughter was told she has a 60% chance of starting work this weekend.  I'm crossing my fingers for her.

My first interview was a summer job working at a home improvement store. It went really quickly. Had three different interviews with different manager. Got the job before I left. Wish it still happened like that. I hope your child got the job.

My first interview was with a dentist in a dental office to help out during the summer.  I got the job and enjoyed it.  I was so very proud of that first paycheck.  I made $5 a day and it seemed like a fortune to me.
